Tour Pro FURIOUSLY RAGES about SLOW PLAY ON SOCIAL MEDIA DURING HIS ROUND!!

SLOW play is a massive issue that for me is just getting worse and worse! But now more than ever we have more tour players hitting out against the tour and asking for change…BUT will the SLOW play issue ever change?

This tour player gives a very public message during a DP world tour event! and golf fans have fully supported him. We have seen Matt fitzpatrick hit out at Patrick Cantley, also brooks Koepka send a very firm message during the Masters & the RBC Heritage.

  1. Entered.

9 holes should take no more than 1hr 45mins in my opinion.
More education on bag placement and less time looking for lost balls is also needed.

  2. Entered. I salute Mike for doing this, when you watch on TV they seem to spend an inordinate amount of time watching players walk to or stand around beside their next shot. And that split screen with adverts is just plain annoying and goes to the tweet about fitting in more ad revenue. I play with 3 other mates and we range in age from mid 60’s to low 80’s, we can walk and finish 9 holes in 2hr.

  3. Rule 5.6b states 40 seconds for a stroke once you are clear to make a shot. So I suggest a shot clock too but at 40 seconds. Putting is a stroke as well so it should apply to putting as too.

  4. Think it’s great that you’re covering this subject.
Changes need to be made. Ultimately they will lose fan viewership if they keep this up.
How are you supposed to get your son or daughter interested in watching with you when it’s like watching grass grow?

  5. No shot clock just tell all the golfers they have to turn in their card 4 1/2 hours from tee time or they are eliminated

  6. Solution: make them tee off last on both Friday and Saturday the next tournament they play. Shame is a powerful motivator.

  7. Entered Where does the time go they only play 70-75 shots a round inc quick 2ft or less putts. 9 holes for me 2 ball is 1hr 30 min – 2hr on a full course 3-4hr over 18 holes thats taking 75-80 shots. If they take an extra 30 sec per shot it only adds 35 min per 18 holes the caddy carrys the clubs, and scoring is done at the tee hopefully (my pet hate is waiting for the group in front to work out their score when still on the green its so annoying and bad etiquette) when watching golf, waiting to play into greens is the big hold up timing on the green should be implemented if their is a timer it should be there.

  8. Entered
2 hours would be a reasonable time for 9 hours. Always avoid slow play and be courteous to those in front and behind your group makes for an enjoyable round.

  9. Me and my family are mostly mid – high handicappers so if we are together we play best ball just to be done in a reasonable time to be done

  10. I've just spent a great couple of days watching The Amateurs Championship at Hillside….it was fantastic to see our great game in the safe hands of these future pro golfers… well done to them all 🎊🌟🤩🥳

  11. I thought using phones during round for pros was forbidden?
    ENTERED
Shot clock is good idea, the caddy's can check that, and slow play should be forbidden. The player playing slow has more time to focused and bigger chance for good hit. How is that fair to players that make in designated time. It changes the outcome of the tournament sometimes.

  12. Entered, love the voice of reason that you bring to the channel. 2 hours for a 9 holes 4 ball is our norm. Keep up the good work.

  13. Nine holes should never be longer than 2 hours. I'm left handed so the wedges would be no use to me but in turn it is a very nice giveaway for the subscribers.

  14. To much talking before each shot, take away the caddies or leave it solely to the player to hit the shot

  15. Entered. For par 36 of around 3100 yards it should take no longer than 1:55 for a recreational foursome. I imagine pga tour 3some should be the same time even at 3690 yards. 2 pga players, 1:35 per 9. On the pro tour they should publish times by group after every round. Albeit one group will skew the times for groups after them, it will bring clear light over time to the players that are slowing things down. Likewise for public golf the ranger can camp out on 7 tee and let groups know if they are behind the recommended time. Calling players out consistently is the only way to change behavior.

  16. They can change the players al the long hitters and fast player's first up and slow pokes behind

  17. ENTERED! At my course our 4 ball groups usually take around 3 1/2 to 4 hours to play a 18 hole round. Tour players should play at a faster pace but shouldn't be rushed to the point where it affects their play.

  18. Some thoughts: Tour players have no reason to play faster. Enforce shot penalties and it goes away. Tour players need to not have those insane green books. Use your eyes and feet and hit the putt. For the public, people have no clue how to golf with a cart. Too many people think they’re more important than everyone else. People say they’re out there to have fun so what’s the rush. Anything over 4 hours, maybe 4 and a half, and I feel it’s way too slow. If you’re playing early you should be much less than 4 hours.

  19. Played 18 in a 3 ball today, took 3 hours 30 minutes, would have been quicker but held up after 9 bt 2 x 4 balls.

  20. All they need to do is use the rules to penalise the pros. It will only happen once or twice and then they will get a move on as it will cost them money!!!!!

  21. Entered. Also, I myself am a slow player, HOWEVER, I ALWAYS make sure i let anyone coming behind myself pass me up at the next tee (usually i'll wait at teh teebox and let them catch up and play the hole before me)…that usually works out.

  22. Entered….. no 9 home round should take more than 90 minutes

  23. I'm 75, played my entire life. Slow play didn't really become an issue until about 15 years ago. I think more people started and they weren't told to keep up like we were when we were starting out as kids. It esed to be that keeping up was part of Golf etiquette, then every body started smoking cigars and drinking beer. Oh by the way it only takes a few spoiled brats on the PGA to back things up. 30 second shot clock, good place to start. MAD RESPECT FROM EAST LONG BEACH 💯
