  1. I think England could have won with a better bowling line up..they played 3 and half bowlers and Anderson was below par..that made it worse..they should play mark wood..he can bat too

  2. KP, continues to show why England refused to select him after he scored over 300 in a county game.

  3. Im Aussie and i found it hard to watch Australia bat most of the game. They seemed a bit TOO DEFENSIVE (more then usual) and i hope they dont bat like that over the next 4 games. I can understand batting like that if the pitch wasnt great, but the pitch was good and hope they play a little more aggressive in the next game.

  4. Test match cricket is not vulnerable – best form of the game hands down!

  5. All part of the plan. Tubby a smidge incorrect. Think the Aussies always knew they had time but simply didn't want to lose wickets. Then they lost wickets. Then they won. Poms bat quickly because they have to. Not because of some fancy new brand, simply because they have to.

  6. How can anyone think england was in control 😂 they declared day 1 with less than 400 😂 if cummins could set a field it wouldve been over in 4 days, england taking a big risk thinking it doesnt matter about results and that if you nearly win thats good enough. Thats pathetic

  7. Bottom line, England CAN’T beat Australia playing regulation test cricket. Australia should have won easily in 2019 but for the miracle, and thrashed England in Australia, they are clearly a better side. So Nasser, you’re wrong. Bazball gives England an edge, its something we can’t replicate. England may have lost Edgbaston but had us on toast at times. I’d be surprised if the whole series isn’t close, but there just might be a thrashing in there somewhere as well!

  8. We lost it ,393 for 8,still more than 10 overs in the day ,could have possibly got another 30 runs ,declare overnight ! They wouldn't have got close ! I like watching this new brand of cricket, but you don't give the best team in world cricket a chance when you get on top !

  9. If I'm an Australian, I'm not using this result as an indication the method is perfect. They need to be better. It could have easily gone the other way.

If I'm England, I'd be reluctant to throw away the methodology. Other than the last hour or so, the aggression was generally working. They're driving the game while Australia is setting defensive fields that Border, Taylor, Waugh and Ponting would never have contemplated on day one.

There are four matches to go. It was a close contest. Let's see how the next Test or two play out before making fundamental changes.

  10. KP is a joke. Btw why do English test cricket need to pump themselves up with punchlines like Bazball. Call it what u want there is two parts to the game batting and bowling. Sure go for 5.5 an over but are they going to bowl aggressively too? And can they sustain that for a 5 test series?

  11. England way of playing Bazball needs correction make good pitches and bring back 2021 Duke ball which moves more. At present Ben Stokes and co are flat track wonder boys

  12. I love the way england are playing…games likes these keep test cricket alive. Go bazball. Dont take australia for granted, there are the champions of test cricket. Play bold.

  13. Im sick of hearing this nonsense that Brendon Mccullum is here to save test cricket, as though it needs saving. Its the most popular form of the game.

  14. In future the ashes will be awarded to the most attacking side. Spazball will rule.

  15. Fantastic match. Yip, that's what happens England, when you get too crazy with 'bazball' and declare an innings with Root still there unbeaten.

Don't ever do something so daft again.
