  1. Thanks, but I'll stick to my RBZ (that I bought second-hand) and my old Hogan wedges (also bought used, but in like-new condition, on eBay). If more average golfers would take the money they saved for fancy new kit and spend it on lessons and range time, they'd see lower scores, and quickly. Guaranteed. Still, I do watch and enjoy most of your videos. I'm an old fart who plays with 8 clubs in a tiny bag, always walking, and I'm still a 6 handicap from the "members" tees. Don't hit it so far as I once did, but I'm always in the fairway, usually near the middle, and my short game is as good as ever. Yes, even putting: you don't HAVE to get the yips when you get older! Walking is absolutely the key to better scores: the big muscles in your legs, back and shoulders get stretched out and relaxed, and those are the ones that you hit the ball with.

  2. Hit my best drive in the past 5 years with a new to me Taylormade r7 driver, after a friend suggested I grip it like holding a small bird and swinging like I was in slow motion. Hit the sweet spot and released correctly to watch a 275 drive down the middle. I traded TM Pi irons that I could never hit well for a set of four r7 woods that are easy to hit.

    Appreciate the new club reviews.

  3. Scotty Scheffler just did a dismissive club flip with his Stealth driver. He broke the head, but he replaced it with the same head. More use than us average golfers.

  4. The MacGregor wedges seem to fit the same slot as Wilson Harmonized wedges: not great, but not bad. For just a few bucks more ($150 USD), the Lazrus and Mazel brand wedges are forged with milled faces. For someone starting off, the MacGregors are probably good enough, but for a mid handicapper wanting upgrade without refinancing the house, I'd suggest Lazrus. I cannot tell them apart from my CBX Zipcore wedges that cost $500 new.

  5. Golf gear and playing memberships prices are getting to be a real problem for Golf in Australia
