They were brothers. Brothers fight, argue, disagree, they don't even like certain aspects of each other, and sometimes they don't want to be in the same room as each other, but ultimately they love each other regardless. They'll find each other again and be happy when they do till then they've got other things to do, to try and to learn.

Like why Skip has a hard time accepting responsibility for saying or doing the wrong things at wrong times. We all make mistakes, but not Skip. He's always right and that's one of the reasons why Shannon is gone.
