  1. I look at how many rods I have and remember I used 3 rods for bass in the early 70s. A 5.5 medium casting, A 5.5 worm casting rod and a 5.5' worm spinning rod. All were fibetglass.

  2. I bought three or four micro guide rods I hate them. Can’t see well enough to thread line without readers.

  3. During my years of fishing, one of my favorite rods was a 6' pistol grip. I may still have it. I will have to look 👀 for it. Good video on a complicated topic.

  4. I've already nominated you for video of the year but this is another really helpful one. Nobody really has gone this far into explaining rods quite like you have. Thanks Glenn!

  5. Hmmmm… Drop shot, finesse rods? Not a peep about spinning rods? Or did I miss it where this is a baitcasting vid? Good 1 for baitcasters though.

  6. I hate the new rods from all brands, I always went with Basspro Extreme on sale for only 75 bucks and lasts 20 yrs plus they used to have a cork handle, few do now. Why don't new rods have the comfortable cork handle anymore?

  7. Good points. I guess a longer rod may get me more fish. On any given good fishing day on my kayak I only catch 10-20 bass. I mainly texas rig worms and creature baits. My desired rods are 6-6.5' with spinning reels. On the kayak it is easier to pitch or drop into their living room with the spinning reels. For me and the canopies i fish my bait caster stays home. And since I am in a kayak I only have 2 rods. 1 main and 1 spare. I never touch the spare. I have seen plenty of videos of kayak fishers with 10 rods but it really depends on where you are and the trees cover above you. Besides when you are catching you don't really switch rods to see if you can catch less fish, unless you have kids and they get mad at you every cast and you caught their fish lol. Thanks for the videos.
