The quarterback is the most important position in football. "Aaron wasn't competong against wide receivers." Right becuase they weren't as valuable as him. And in the NBA you really only get MVP consideration if you're a great scorer. Lockdown defenders don't get a look. So it's pretty much the same thing. And you also have to be on a great team to win it in the NBA.

I say Rodgers. Before the pandemic the Rodger/Brady debates used to be almost equivalent to the Lebron/Jordan debates. It was always how Rodgers was the best but not the greatest or some bs media and fans would use to make excuses for him coming up short in the postseason lol. Regardless even though Rodgers legacy has taken a downturn, he was still in conversations of being the greatest ever in his sport. There's never been a KD is better than MJ debate when it comes to success, skill, athleticism, mentality etc. KD's career in football terms would be more like a great rb or receiver. Like we've seen great wide receivers and rb's win superbowl MVPs but they are seen as weapons not the leaders of a team.

The debate topic is interesting, but they were actually gaslighting us with some of the Rodgers talk. Rodgers absolutely was considered the best QB in the league for a large chunk of his career, probably for 6-7 straight seasons and arguably more. The narrative started to change once Brady won his 5th ring, and was officially put to rest shortly after with additional success by Brady and the emergence of Patrick Mahomes. And even then, Rodgers went on to win two more MVPs. And even then, most people still considered Rodgers’ talent to be no worse than second in the league behind Mahomes.
Meanwhile, there might have been, at most, two full seasons where KD was considered the best. And it wasn’t as if Lebron was the only guy ahead of him in all those other years. There were times where Giannis, Jokic, Steph, or even Kawai were ahead of him.
Also, Aaron Donald’s dominance didnt coincide with that early run of dominance in Rodgers career.
