  1. Let's go cam smith !! I reckon it's his type of course and he's been rounding into form over the last month or so !!

  2. The players that went to LIV won't get any penalty for going back to the PGA tour. That would be ridiculous fining the LIV players as the players that went to LIV actually helped the PGA tour receive the investment from PIF. The PGA tour also needs the LIV players. The LIV players did nothing wrong playing on a different tour. The equity stuff won't work and those players that didn't go to LIV won't ever receive anything close to what they gave up. LIV will now make offers to all players excluding Rory but it won't be the offers we saw prior to the merger. I wonder if Rahm will tee it up in the LIV Spain event. If he signed his deal before the merger does he still receive what he was offered?

Lastly those players that didn't go to LIV don't deserve to be made whole as they took no risk. Those that went to LIV took a lot of risk. When you take risk you get rewarded. It's business.

  3. It is amazing, yet so typical, that the same people who whined, complained, and shouted, "blood money!" when golfers signed up with LIV are dead silent about companies being in bed with China, the UAE, and other countries with atrocious human rights records. It's hypocrisy at its zenith, but I expect nothing less from those clowns.

  4. Matt, I knew you would handle the Canadian Open perfectly! Wow. We were traveling in Florida and watched the streaming… amazing end. I like Fleetwood, seems to be a congenial guy. But the whole world was for the "other guy." So very cool.

  5. The other thing is this Matt and Dom; please pay attention to the Structure of LIV. LIV is a league with teams and team captains that own 25% of their teams. The PIF owns the other 75% and are looking to sell to private interests.

  6. The LIV players should not be fined to come back. Think about it, they took the "risk" to make the Tour reposition itself to include the players in decision making on the money. If anything the PGA Tour should be paying their players more to stay and not go to LIV! The PGA players (being a little sarcastic) took the money, they just gave it to the wrong people. So they lost twice now! You can't make that up.

  7. Nick Taylor! Awesome play, awesome circumstances, and an awesome game! I don't watch a lot of golf, but so glad I watched this final round.

  8. I WILL BELIEVE ONLY THE FINAL DETAILS TO MUCH HATE FROM THE PGA TOUR AND PROPAGANDA STILL REPARATIONS FOR SLAVERY (JUST FOR RORY) BULLSHIT
NO PENALTIES FOR LIV GUYS AND NO MONEY FOR PGA TOUR GUYS YOU PICKED WHERE YOU WANTED TO BE SO TOUGH TITTY JAY HAS TO GO PERIOD

  9. If fan's boycotted all PGA events and stopped watching broadcasts immediately the merger would never take place. If you boycott both opens it would get even more attention even thought these events are not the PGA.

  10. DIDN'T SEE JIMMY DUNNE AT THE PRESS CONFERENCE JUST THE PIF REP AND JAY AND THE BOTH PARTIES STATED AT THE CONFERENCE THAT THE PIF REPRESENTATIVE WOULD BE THE DIRECTOR OVERSEEING EVERYTHING. MAKES SENSE IT'S THERE MONEY SO WHY WOULD THINK THEY WOULD PUT JAY IN CHARGE MAKES NO F -ing SENSE

  11. Jay Monahan is 99% responsible for the problems and thanks to the PIF all PGA golfers have gotten a pay raise if they play well enough. Jay banned the player who went to LIV and caused the expensive lawsuits that I believe he and the PGA Tour will lose if a judgement is allowed to finish. Banning the player who went to LIV was Stupid in a kind comment. Telling them they could NEVER return was insanely stupid. Labeling the PIF and a terrorist origination now causes huge problems for Jay and the PGA Tour…

  12. DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT THE US GOV IS TRYING TO IMPROVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE SAUDI'S BULLSHIT BIDEN AND FRIENDS ARE TRYING TO DESTROY ALL AFFILIATIONS WITH ALLIES IN THE MIDDLE EAST WHY DO YOU THINK CHINA IS SO VISIBLE WITH THE SAUDI'S AND MIDDLE EAST STATES.
AND YES POLITICS THE DEMOCRATS ARE PROTECTING THEIR BUDDY JAY

  13. The problem the PGA has is how do you get more eyeballs on golf if you just focus on US market .LIV is focused on growing the game outside the US so that’s where there is a better chance of getting more people involved in golf

  14. At the end of the day PIF and Sponsors will decide what happens, JM probably won’t survive once it’s done

  15. What a way to win a playoff!! Surely has to be the longest putt ever in these circumstances..??

  16. The PGA would not have increased purses and benefits without competition so maybe a simple Thank You to the LIV Organization especially from the PGA players.

  17. Comment senses tells me,

All three leagues will stay indicted

The new company (TBD) will handle the scheduling and marketing for all three leagues

  18. The truth is, the PIF doesn't have to raise purses at all since they control the PGA and LIV. There's no more competition between the leagues that would spurn that. PIF has first right of refusal to sponsor any tournament, but that doesn't mean they have to increase the purses. In fact, they could actually bring the prices down to pre-LIV prices….just above what an advertising sponsor would pay….if they wanted.

  19. The guys who jumped to LIV got money to do so. This money was earned. They took the PGA media on. These guys were painted as terrorists themselves for 1.5 years. They lost their World Ranking points, Sponsors, fan bases, even course memberships. If anyone deserves more its the LIV guys. The PGA Tour guys are ridiculous to say they need to be made whole? The media has painted them as heros. All they did was bad mouth the LIV guys as they collected all the upside the LIV guys got them. They now have better purses then ever. Be made whole? What a soft joke Rory and his buddy Jimmy are.

  20. It's fun to speculate on golf's future but truly no one really knows. IMO JM comes across very poorly no matter how you look at the current situation.
    1. Complete hypocrite regarding 9/11 families and his message to the players the past year.
    2. Not understanding to issues facing the PGA tour and refusing to sit down and listen to potential partners 4 years ago.
It seems hard to imagine him running the tour moving forward.

Regarding LIV players I don't believe for one second any of them went too LIV for the good of golf. They went there for $$$ in some cases generational wealth which is totally cool it's their decision. It's going to be interesting to see if this deal goes through and how the LIV players re-enter the PGA tour if in fact the
PGA Tour board is really in charge

  21. So refreshing to have Matt back and hearing his commentary that always provides rational and accurate perspective of the the current confusing golf landscape. He is an intellectual that speaks objectively which is rare and lacking in journalism. FOL is must see and I have become my go to program daily.

  22. Monohan was told his job title and salary and he exclaimed I'm in, sold. Tell me the details later.

  23. Monahan said that it wasn’t sustainable to have all this vitriol and division but punishing LIV players will perpetuate and enhance animosity. That’s not bringing this together and making it better. Also, he said PGA players will reap the future equity this all will bring. It seems PGA is trying to bring things back to pre LIV days but those days PGA equity was trending downward. That’s why major sponsors didn’t want to pony up increased purses where they were going to get nothing in return. They see no equity in the future. Why does US major corporations that are closer to Saudi money not investing in PGA.

  24. Are PGA players going to be punitive against LIV players? They should be thanking players like Mickelson, and Koepka, etc. Their actions, right or wrong, were ultimately beneficial to all tour players.

  25. QUESTION – Wouldn't the Anti Trust issue/case for the PGA be heightened by the so called possible penalty's/fines etc that the PGA alludes it may impose on LIV players, if they wish to return to that tour ????

  26. Punishment for LIV golfers coming back to PGA Tour? I'm wondering if there isn't a 'restriction of trade' with that thought process.

  27. Billy Horshel ( one of the PGA players most vocal of criticism of guys going to LIV ) said it best.. " PGA wants to control the narrative "
The MSM in golf is seeming to push the narrative that guys that come back will be fined . The worst of them as they say were the most critical of the PGA, won't be let back in … that's the narrative being pushed
