  1. Nice, thanks for all your tricks but for a muscular 55 yo like myself (ex rugbyman) without any flexibility AT ALL, I am getting tired of being lectured about golf swing by young (and older) very flexible golfers. I long for someone my body type to start showing tricks on how to achieve a correct swing WITHOUT being naturally as flexible as a bamboo….. nothing personal there. Keep up the good work 👏

  2. You’re my favorite Tom. I wish I could in person lessons with you! My local golf pro is a Andy Plumber fan!! So luckily he teaches SAT! Yay! Have a fantastic day!!

  3. I slowed down and swung slower on the back-9 this morning, and had much better results. Not necessarily a slower swing speed, but more solid (center of clubface) contact 👊🏻

Quit swinging like a folding lawn chair, and swing with a stable foundation … much better results 👍🏻

    Good stuff, Tom
… keep up the good work!

  4. That’s the key. You need to understand how your body moves with the club .
But a lot of people they don’t understand this concept.
When you do it slowly you can feel it . Congratulations 👍

  5. I'm sure it's my gorilla arms that are the start point of my woes. I've tried so many things (a lot of Tom's ideas) but there's always something I'm getting wrong and it's driving me nuts. 😮
3 months ago I concentrated on Tom's guidance on tucking in right elbow, squeeze arms together, use shoulders in my backswing turn. Massive improvement and was getting another 25 yards on my 7 iron… Job done. Trouble is it made me more tense and I was getting stuck (no follow thru) and it was tweaking my back nd now my ball contact is poor too often.
From Tom's previous feedback I feel sure I'm just too fast from the top and more like a slashing downswing. I top a lot of balls, but if I try to swing more relaxed I still don't have good contact.
I also think that one of the hardest things to do for over 50s is the coordination of the hip turn alongside the downswing.
I know I tend to "slide" my hips which makes me lean back on the downswing, so right now it's a struggle.
Funny thing is that if I open my stance for an 80 yard pitch I relax and hit nice shots, so I do realise "a lot of it is in the head"….

  6. That stopping point (feeling) is a game changer for me (beginner) for all my clubs – including wedge play. It “calms” my swing and makes it easier and more consistent.
    Many, many thanks!!

  7. Brilliant Tom. Well said as if people take note of this tip it will improve their game guarantied. 👍😎🇦🇺

  8. Tom – giving you an update comment after my comments a few weeks ago. Used to shoot 50-55 on 9 holes regularly, just shot 40 this week after following your tips this season. Hoping to break 80 on 18 for the first time this year!

  9. This dude made golf fun for me. I watch his videos exclusively and I’ve improved so much. Been playing for 3 years and I’m very close to breaking 85 thanks my man.

  10. This video was exactly what I did about a month ago with my swing and now that I’ve seen your video it makes complete sense. You definitely give some actually good tips and advice. Keep it up

  11. This is something I have found helps me a lot! Several years ago, as a beginner, I was struggling with partial swings because I was trying to start my backswing full speed and then suddenly stop the backswing for a shorter swing. This made the transition from backswing to downswing difficult. When I tried to make it feel like slow motion, I started making much better contact with the ball. I try it with my full swing, too. Much better.

  12. I try to cream the ball with my 7iron- 165yards

I force myself to swing slow and make good contact- 180yards

What a mind ****! Gotta love golf!

  13. U can' deliberaely swing slow. U swing slowly by letting GRAVITY do all the work. Let the arms drop due to GRAVITY and this will guarantee u swing slowly without trying to swing slowly.

  14. "Keeping your arms straight" …but shouldn't you want to have a pivot in your arms and wrists at a certain point in the swing since that helps with generating more clubhead speed?
