The Ashes are here with Justin Langer | Vaughany & Tuffers Cricket Club Podcast

Michael, Phil and Ben are back ahead of a massive summer for English cricket!

Australia are in town ahead of one of the most anticipated series in years and joining the guys in the studio is the man who was leading Australia during the last Ashes series, Justin Langer.

He opens up on his acrimonious departure from Cricket Australia and why he still feels such a personal connection to the current squad. We get his thoughts on England’s impressive 18 months under Brendon McCullum and he reveals the true story behind the famous ‘bin kicking’ incident at Headingley in 2019.

We also check in with the Telegraph’s Chief Cricket Correspondent Nick Hoult from Edgbaston ahead of the first Test with Moeen Ali likely to play following his retirement U-turn.

  1. No one is mentioning the English supporters. They are worth an extra player. If Bazball starts to rock and the crowd gets behind them – this Australia team is brittle. Stokes won the game at Headingley 2019 because of that crowd. He got them behind him and the Aussies just wilted. It is still the same team. They still have the same body memory.

  2. If England are Wilder and the Aussies are Fury, it's over already…

  3. I'm so happy I made productive decisions about my finances that changed my life forever. I'm a single mother living in Melbourne Australia, bought my second house in February hoping to retire next year at 42 if things keep going smoothly for me

  4. This is Bazzball's biggest test. Should be a cracking series

  5. Ahhhh the Corporate Cricket is here, the Corporate Cricket is here, jolly good old chap jolly good!

  6. So JL in the week after Australia's most traumatic loss decided to blow off his team for a boozy long lunch with Alex Ferguson. 🧐

  7. Bravo to the poms for changing things up. If Australia wins the series, it won't because the English went into their shells.

  8. Not a real ashes series. Never is against the Pomms. Bazzball about to become squashball. Bazzball never been properly tested. Five runs an over sounds impressive but when the innings lasts less than 50overs, it's going to be a cakewalk in three days. Good luck to the Pomms and can't wait for the Ozzie's to get back to some real competition in the Sheffield Shield. This series will be decided by whoever wins the contest between Warner and Broad.
Both a bit long in the tooth but if Warner gets on top of Broad early then that's Broad done for the series.
That will suit Broad because playing tests against OZ for Broady is not real cricket anyway🤣🤣🤣👎
    He deserves an early shower.
