Learn how to chip from the rough, whether the ball is sitting up on the grass or is buried within
In this video we explain the different lie conditions your ball may be in when it is greenside in the rough. We review how chipping a ball that is sitting up is much easier to hit than if a ball is lying low. If the ball is sitting up, you can expect the ball to pop up into the air with little roll upon landing. It is much harder to chip a ball that is buried in rough as the ball will roll quite a bit upon release. For the later, you will want to make sure to position the ball a little back in your stance.
Practice chipping from the rough whenever you can and be sure to practice from all kinds of lie conditions.
