Top Golf reminds me a lot of an old arcade game called Battletech. It was the early days of multiplayer. You'd have a dozen arcade pods for the players all connected together in a huge room.
That's Top Golf for me. The tech is still young enough to need a business to provide the service, but it's just a stop gap before something better is available to everyone in there homes.
For golf, VR seems like a perfect match, but I'm looking forward to the first good AR game. Imagine turning any field, or really anything you're looking at into a golf hole. oh my.
