To me, Load-to-Release (LTR) — most people just call it “release” — and especially Time-to-Throw (TT) are indicators in the speed of decision making. I looked at Cousins and he does have a TT number a little high at 2.83. However, he doesn’t have the quickest LTR and he’s a bit slow running so I think those escalate his TT number a bit. Now I’m certainly no expert but I think Cousins’ decision-making process isn’t so slow but rather his mechanics make him LOOK like it is. I think it’s foolish for anyone to complain about Cousins’ so-called “Football IQ” — it seems that’s what this guy is saying — because I think Cousins’ is pretty high. It’s just that he’s not the quickest guy at getting things done. He can’t make himself much quicker than he is.
The problem with Cousins is that he is mid tier. Not winning playoffs and superbowls doesn't help him. He is not in the top elite group. Struggles against good teams.
