  1. Russell, so simple, yet such a common fault! When I don't turn my shoulders it's disastrous! TY for the spot on lesson……my swing thought for today's round…..!

  2. This is an excellent video – – consisten with some old Hogan videos on this topic too. I note that in your depiction of the rotation (as in Hogan's, Moe Norman's, etc.) — the harrowing appearnce of the club face's scoring lines almost facing up to the sky at P6 I think causes many players (amateurs likely) to feel like that move would create an impossibly open clubface. Yet it appears that must be the correct feeling — your depiction has that same condition as Hogan's and Norman's and likely so many other top level players past and present. Is there a timing element that must be applied to get the face squared since to my eye it looks massively "open" to the swing arc at P6?

  3. My big takeaway from this excellent video is the absolute need to rotate your head through impact so head rotation follows the lead shoulder rotation while at the same time keeping your head back during this head swivel. This allows for the creation of space in the down swing to allow straightening of arms through impact. Very helpful.
Never before this video did I understand why moving my head towards the target, even slightly, during the downswing is so harmful to creating the necessary tilt that creates the needed space for straightening of the arms through the swing. This is a big deal!
