Then they should stop the brown bag handshake Alabama famous for
The reality though is the state legislatures can tell Congress to pound sand. And few have any faith in the NCAA as a whole. Your assuming SEC school states are just going to roll over for whatever Congress decides. And what exactly would they be able to decide on that wouldn't end up in court or ignored by states. It's a slippery slope. NIL collectives give donors a chance to be involved in all sports played at a school. Not talked about is how much baseball, women's softball has also picked up. Volleyball and Soccer aren't far behind. But paying attendee sports in college as a whole has been somewhat re-defined and re-discovered as being potential larger money makers. This will be a tough issue to try and, "reign in". They will have to define, "reign in", without seeming like they have no regard for players earning and earning well for schools. This form of NIL compensation is the safest route unless those schools plan on hiring players as employees. Good luck with that. Fine chat gentlemen.
I'm sorry I'm laughing at the fact that Tommy tuberville is a f**** senator. The guy does not even understand the three branches of government
The Athletes are getting screwed again.
This time by the SEC. Not a good look.
May hurt recruiting when students get a bad taste with SEC trying to limit their income potential. sec just needs to drop this battle
A bit off topic, is it just me or does anyone else think that Pete Thamel look like an angry man? Dare I say the human version of Oscar the Grouch 😂
The last thing we need is more politicians involved in CFB in general. If we could just get each different conference to agree with the same basic formatting for NIL. Then we can put a cap on all of these crazy NIL millions of $$$ going to an 18/19 year old young person. These politicians are going to "want their share of the $$$ bags" that CFB produce each and every year. Just look how much the NCAA gets paid every "March Madness" during college basketball season. That's the NCAA's biggest $$$ producing product and the only reason that we still have an NCAA in general. If not for that the NCAA would had folded down and walked away from college athletics. Imagine every politician wanted to get paid in order to be swayed on NIL in one way or another way.
All of these major changes are killing CFB to include NIL, college betting issues, 8 or 9 games conference, now trans-people playing on female teams, conference expansion going crazy heading towards 20 or 24 team leagues, TV conference contracts, Mickey Mouse and Disney now owns ESPN1, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN+, ESPNHISTORY, SEC1, SEC2, and whatever streaming services that they also own…sounds alot like they have a monopoly on CFB and all other college sporting events..which should be against THE LAW…yes so lets get all of these politicians to pass a law in order to STOP THE ESPN MONOPOLY OF COLLEGE SPORTS..
SEC wont be able to do this alone. BIg10 and Big12 have to agree… otherwise no one is going to keep the status quo with rich white men, from the south, pearl-clutching.
SEC needs to stop being afraid and go to 9 or 10 conference games.
Athletes JUST started getting paid in 2021. Already the white men from the deep south trying to keep life-changing money from the Poor Black Student, many with single mothers on welfare.
Expect this to go to Supreme Court again.
Civil Rights Suit looming against SEC if they continue down this road.
SEC rich white males needs to focus on playing 9 conference games, instead of stealing money from poor black athletes
Please post some calls that’s what we really wanna see 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Paul stays on Georgias but sack,he’s a joke
I don't know why college athletics aren't considered work study programs.
Love sec
We need NIL for everyone already being paid, including the crooked refs and the prostitutes:)
I do not understand how anyone could call Bryce Young the best QB, when he lost more games, and close win games, than any BAMA QB for a long time. They say yeah, but he was THE REASON they won… NO, he was THE REASON they lost.
I love it that Spencer Rattler is being overlooked… I have a feeling that he is going to have a special season in '23. GO COCKS !!
Hi, I'm from the government and I'm here to help. Yeah, good luck.
Used the English soccer/football league models. It doesn’t mean college affiliated sports will go away.
Table this. Pronouns and transgenderism is most important.
Ironic…These the same people that hate the government getting involved.
