PGA Tour, LIV Golf, DP World Tour announce merger in stunning move | CBS Sports

In a shocking and historic move, the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund have agreed to a merger that will see the PIF’s golf-related business (LIV Golf) combine with the other tours in what is being described as “a new, collectively owned, for-profit entity to ensure that all stakeholders benefit from a model that delivers maximum excitement and competition among the game’s best players.”

  1. It’s a Benedict Arnold trader decision… incredible how greed can destroy the world…

  2. The PGA is making a huge mistake. Americans will boycott the PGA for doing this, guarenteed.

All true Americans must say NO to this arangement.

We golfers in America are angry about this.

Its all about money and that is the one thing the PGA golf had going for it, integrity and nationalism, not profit.

The PFA is where golfers had integrity. That no longer exists.

I have watched golf for 65 years. I will not watch golf anymore if this deal goes through. It's discusting.

THIS IS A SAD DAY FOR GOLF. Shame on all these players who left the PGA, selling their souls when it comes to golf.

Guess its time to create a new tour in America, one that cannot sale out to foreign inities.

    Shame on the PGA…

  3. Jay Monaghan the narrow mind CEO should resign. He’s d main cause of this debacle. LIV did a great favour for those in PGA who miss cuts!! They now get paid Thks to LIV. Wonder what PGA does with d xtra millions before ? Probably enriching their greedy executives like Monaghan

  4. The increased purses of the "Dedicated" tournaments was a big part of this. Sponsors didn't want to kick in double the sponsorship money while getting watered-down tournaments missing Koepka, DCB, DJ, etc. Who was paying for it? The PGA had to dip into its 'reserves' and was going to go broke at this rate. Once they saw Koepka and Phil finish tied for 2nd at the Masters, all the sponsors started pushing back. That's apparently when the "talks" started with the Saudis.
This second guest "journalist" sure is clueless.

  5. What about the average players on the LIV Tour? Players who wouldn't do very well when competing with the top players each week? Players like Perez, Poulter, Westwood…….Will they be upset that the money won't be so easy to come by anymore

  6. Never Forget the Saudi Arabian government funded and produced the militant group who hijacked the planes on September 11th
but hey I guess 200million dollars is enough to forget

  7. I think the PGA will benefit the most. They were taking a loss this year because of legal battles and losing their best players and loosing viewers. My concern is LIV was definitely the best to watch, so I hope this doesn't bring them down since the PGA will have sole leadership roll. Hopefully, this will benefit everyone. Let's just hope.

  8. This was always going to happen. Just not so quick. A great move for golf. Big surprise for players round the world. Brilliant for the next generation. Now pga players can play on any tour, with no punishment, as it should be.

  9. It`s all about the money period, the Greed at the top ,and guess what this ai`nt nothing new ,No respect for the ones that paid in blood and life.

  10. cancelled my pga tour live membership will not watch another event until Monahan is gone and the PGA tour is back what a piece of sh**

  11. Hey Big Blood Money?! While you're at it, why not buy out the NFL and NBA? This way you can easily make those who you don't like to mysteriously disappear without a trace. A Sad day in America, first it was tRump, now it's terrorist killers, LIV.

  12. ❌THE SAUDIS & AMERICANS🇸🇦🇺🇸TEAMING UP AGAIN
    …just like it’s September 11th 2001
    🩸💰🩸💰🩸💰🩸💰🩸💰🩸💰🩸💰🩸

  13. Everybody is angry and the PGA will profit. I already stopped watching the PGA TOUR, bunch of HYPOCRITES, spoiled, rich crybabies. I will miss LIV Golf, it was actually fun, entertaining, and well organized. The MASTERS is a RACIST event anyway.

  14. LIV GOLF WAS A HUGE SUCCESS IN AUSTRALIA . Was broadcast on free to air tv and the crowds were majors attendance. Golf is a world game that the PGA has been killing off other nations tours. USA IS NOT THE BE ALL AND END ALL TO GOLF. Look out of your own backyard for a change.
