The 2023 Pro Motocross series is officially underway and MXA’s Assistant Editor/test rider, Josh Mosiman, suited up to race with the best in the world at the Fox Raceway National. In this video, follow Josh through the highs and lows of racing at Pala, which includes a mid-air collision with his friend, Freddie Noren, after Josh cross-rutted on the lip of the triple jump on the first lap of 450 Moto 1. And, it includes Josh cutting the track on the start (not a good idea) and getting caught on camera by Davey Coombs himself… Every week, our This Week in MXA video series highlights what is going on the the motocross industry, and what the MXA wrecking crew is up to. Over the next two weeks, Josh will race the 2023 GasGas MC450F Factory Edition at the Hangtown National and the 2023 Honda CRF450 Works Edition at the Thunder Valley National. Then, on July 22nd, he’ll race the 2023 Kawasaki KX450SR at the Washougal National.

FREDDIE HAS HIS SHARE OF SKETCHY WAS AT TIMES AND SOME SPECTACULAR CRASHES SO HE'S NOT UNSCATHED EITHER. THE EVENTS THAT UNFOLDED IN THE START CRASH WERE PURELY MATHEMATICAL CIRCUMSTANCE. SPECTACULAR AND EXTRORDINARY BUT A RANDOM EVENT FOR SURE! SOFT, DEEPLY RIPPED AND RUTTED TRACKS SUCK ASS, MAKES IT ONE LINE WITH KICKERS AND ARE FUCKING DANGEROUS! I SAW SOME OF THE BEST RACING EVER LAST YEAR AT HANGTOWN WITH A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD TRACK WITH MULTIPLE GOOD LINES. LEAVE THE DEEP STUFF TO THE MUDDERS!

If that really messed with your head it's time to hang it up. You let down your sponsors and your fans. If you don't want to be 1st into the 1st turn, and get spooked by a close call, which is a no call, why race? Just stay a "test rider"😢
