The NFL absorbed the AFL, the NHL absorbed the WHA, the NBA absorbed the ABA. All of these mergers made football, hockey and basketball better because the best competed against the best. While the morality of LIV being sports whitewashing of despicable human rights violations cannot be forgiven, and the players who joined LIV in spite of those moral issues, did so because they were motivated by the greed of money, it is time to move on! What professional athlete does not play for money? Every time we watch a football game, a basketball game, a baseball game and a hocky game we are watching millionaires at play. Money is what motivates every professional golfer. That is why there are sponsors and prize money! That is why we and the media talk about the drama of the $250,000 putt etc.! So accept the truth, but find reconciliation so I can see Dustin take on John Ram, Brooks take on Scheffler, Phil take on Rory etc. without all the internecine comments. At some point these guys have to stuff their pride, emotional immaturity and silly rhetoric and just get on with playing golf! Cut the drama, get to the inherent beauty of the sport.

The Tour would have lost their anti compete lawsuit brought against them by PIF because unlike the last lawsuit this one had enough money behind it that no golfing judges would have thrown it out, so PIF gave Monahan an offer he couldn’t refuse. Once players climb down off their high horses and realize that ALL will benefit instead of the Top 50, they’ll be happy. The Euro Tour won’t fade away but will be like it once was years ago, with great players emerging, And the LPGA won’t disappear because of the threat of a Lady’s LIV Tour next season, And they can continue with ARAMCO as their major sponsor. The high horse moralists butts are hurt now but like anything in this world once the money starts to flow all will quickly be forgotten, And Phil Mickleson will make sure they don’t forget.
