Another match in the long standing rivalry between Shane Van Boening and Jayson Shaw, from the 2023 Derby City Classic Big Foot 10-Ball Challenge.
This was from round two of the event, so both players had already had a chance to get acclimated to the table.
These two Hall of Fame First Balloters have faced off so many times that they each know the other’s game very well. The winner would be locked into at least 3rd place, and the loser would be out of the event.

1:14:32 (Explanation for Mr. Jones) I believe that when the cue ball is so close to the rail that it is sometimes spinning more than the normal amount. In other words when it would be rolling without sliding. Mathematically angular velocity is now greater than v/r this happens when the cue ball is struck higher than 7/10ths it's radius or the point of percussion. (Assuming a level cue.) This is also why it is easier to control topspin than draw–after a certain distance the amount of spin (excluding side) is indepent of cueing height and only dependent on cueball velocity (omega =v/r)
