  1. Emotional!! What do you think? I definitely think this gives golf a more human side… what are your thoughts

  2. Maybe Billy isn't happy with his current employer 🤣…the neighbor's are a bit more chilled over there…must be more stressful back on his side ⛳

  3. That's the one thing I don't like about pro golf. They aren't spending that money to go to each tournament, they are betting they will make the cut and play on the weekend. Shooting an 84 has, effectively, lost him however much he spent to prepare for this event.

  4. If billy quit hating on the liv tour, he might be able to play golf! Notice what happened to Rory and it!

  5. I don't know him personally, but I don't have the best opinion of him. His yelling at a fan who was dissing him is one incident. Maybe my opinion would change if I knew him personally.

  6. I'm a Billy fan, but it shows you how difficult this game can be, even for proffesionals. Pro golfers make more money in endorsements then they do in tournament money. So us amatures and weekend golfers relax, and stop complaining after every shot or make excuses why you didn't execute. I feel for him.

  7. He is one of the sincerest and nice and nicest people that play, he is a family man Totally correct and you wouldn't want to meet a nicer person. I am personally saddened that he has been so upset by this recent debacle. He is too good a player to let this affect his future. I think he was probably more upset about not putting on a good show for the fans.😅

  8. He has, essentially, illustrated here why so many went to the LIV. Can you say, "Financial security?" IMO, much has changed in professional golf besides equipment and, considering the wealth that the PGA Tour has decided to share with the membership, maybe the Tour could see its way to give all those who were cut say, $5000 to help cover expenses instead of nada. Let's say, 70 missed the cut and each gets $5K, that's $350K which is probably the same amount a 5th place finish gets nowadays. The top players are millionaires already and this gesture of magnanimity won't cost them much in the long run and would go far to help the "less fortunate" players. And, let's remember that those cut probably played in the pro-am on Wednesday so they're playing 3 rounds that week on their own dime, not just 2. Time for a change.
As for Billy himself, it's difficult for me to have any empathy for someone who spewed so much bile against the LIV, but I can understand where he's at right now. Anyone who's played competitive sports has experienced this and I wish him no ill. For the future, that is the big unknown, there have been some athletes who were on top, then suddenly lost it and were never heard from again. He needs to look at the man in the mirror and decide what comes next.

  9. Golf will humble an honest person down to their bare core. Character is admitting this fact and accepting this fact. Billy will never blame it on a false pretension. And for those who love the game, like Billy does, they know these lapses of horror will pass.

  10. I do appreciate the value of not WDing.
It is hard to feel for Billy for two reasons:
First he has a ton of money, and thanks to the LIv guys the pga tour guys now get a minimum now, so that financial pressure —that is part of all those unnecessary pressures of traditional pro tour golf—is no longer for pga tour guys…along with full fields….and cuts…

Also, as is being said by practically everyone, he like Rory has brought this on himself. As the sport continues its transition, Rory and Billy only slowed the inevitable LIv train down a tiny bit, but they really derailed themselves.

They are both very talented guys and will see better days (not that Rory’s days are that bad today but he is still underperforming).

Billy and Rory need to get back to doing what top golfers do: worry about themselves. Whenever top golfers get into this kind of stuff historically, they suffer greatly and often end up learning they belong on the range and not in the boardroom.

The smart guys on Tour are the ones riding the fence. Just look at the results. The more involved the players get on the drama—regardless of side—the more they struggle. The more they separate themselves- the better they do.

It really is common sense at this point; which is why guys like Rory and Billy shouldn’t be leading people, as they both tend to lack some common sense. It people like chamblee have them high on the koolaid. And now they are dependent on the koolaid. Like any addict, they will struggle in their normal life.

  11. The LIV thing got to his head. He hate LIV so much that he couldn't accept that has-been LIV players did so well in the majors.

  12. I've got the feeling that even players like Rory say, act, and even cry just like Billy when not in the public eye. I mean come on, Rory has had a disastrous Spring of golf compared to what he and all of us feel where he should be. Sitting at home after 2 rounds at Augusta must have been a real gut shot to Rory. I'm pretty sure there were some tears shed back in his room or at home later that day!

  13. I’ve been pretty low on golf and confidence like he mentions. Just gotta keep fighting and find something. Everything is temporary

  14. Id be jumping for joy if i shot 84 at memorial, what you on about, burning money, hes a millionaire 😂😂😂😂, needs to suck it up, and keep going or find a new career, problem here is he could have walked straight onto LIV, made a guaranteed living, but because hes giving guys so much shit hes trapped, bashing them as has beens, and 2nd tier players, brooks was in this position but look how hes turned that around, even with his masters disappointment, which must have stung

  15. 😂 Blubbering Blockie has opened the flood gates to players trying to gain fans by turning on the tears.
Billy probably had a call from Monahan saying "Billy people dislike you and we're loosing viewers, you're going to have to break out the tissues to show what emotional good guys we all are on the PGA!..

..Be the hero Billy.. be the hero" 😂😂

  16. He is reportedly worth 20 million dollars. I don't think he is a good example of a golfer struggling to pay weekly expenses.

  17. Win 1 event you have at least a million bucks. People out here struggling to eat or pay rent. Cry me a river.
