  1. Classy man, Ratts. Terribly treated by my club. Will always have my respect bcos of how he handled what happened. Had every right to take a shot at us but remained quiet. Hope he has only success from here on out. Gluck with north, ratts!

  2. A lot of respect for ratts, great to see someone in his position put footy into perspective like that. Very classy.

  3. Ratts is an absolute gem of a human. I'd love him to be an assistant at Collingwood.

  4. Such an inspiring figure. Has gone through a lot in his life and always love hearing him speak.

Regardless of what people think of him as a coach, both sackings were completely unjustified. Carlton just shafted him for really no reason other than getting Mick Malthouse to stick it up Collingwood. St Kilda resigns him to a multi year extension, which they completely back track on because of coach sacker Geoff Walsh’s recommendations. Should never of resigned him in the first place if they were going to move on from him.

It’s such a shame cause he probably won’t get another coaching gig at senior level unless Clarkson is out for a long long time. Hope he can excel at North for whatever time he has in charge, and hopefully he can get another main gig some point in the future.

  5. a true knight of footy great efforts brett ratten hopefully youll get a flag with someone in the coaches box eventually
ps have they sacked the orange team loving female commentator yet

  6. Gotta feel for ratts, sacked by carlton for no reason then saints let him go after signing a contract, would love to have him at the pies as an assistant coach

  7. I don't know why the AFL doesn't hire Brett Ratten and bring and bring him into AFL HQ. Such a genuine classy footy person that fans from all clubs would like to see having a say in the direction footy is heading.

  8. From an Essendon person,Ratts is a great person and coach! He just needs a club to back him fully

  9. Beautifully said Ratt's… Been shafted a few times & he could be so bitter with the game but stands tall & holds his head up high… All the best to you

  10. Ratten's powerful response to Robbo's typically stupid question. Robbo needs to be retired.

  11. Ratts is a great man. Amazing player and coach. The guy lost his teenage son. What does he do? He continues on!

  12. Talking about others less fortunate and talking about being there for his kids, I think most watching this won't know that his son Cooper died tragically in a car accident at just 16 years old.

Ratten is a quality human being.
