  1. That's his political opinion. This is what happens when you inject politics into sports. If he was condemning Russia about the war in Ukraine , no one would call it contentious.

  2. This is a good thing and people who say "oh they play sports they should stay out of politics " it's to wake you up from your little bubble

  3. He's a clown and says whatever he likes mainly to provoke. Massive respect for his play on court, no respect for the man and his opinions. He has every right to express his feelings, and as a public figure, we have every right to agree or disagree with his comments.

  4. This is the same as Russia and China in Taiwan Ukraine, both claimed independence but both Russia and China says it's the part of their countries history and whatnot

  5. Stop the violence or stop the division is always just a sneaky way of saying agree to the status quo and do what I want.

  6. Reinforces the fallacy & makes a mockery of sports not mixing in politics & highlights the hypocritical weakness LTA/Tournament's officials!

  7. Sound familiar the same nonsense you get from nationalistic Armenians. Calls it Serbian heart land but states he’s peaceful. Two contradictory points.

  8. correct me if I am wrong but kosovo are independent tho so I ain't in agreement with what he is saying at all really personally just stick to playing tennis 🤔

  9. Kosovans got their independence for a reason.
If Novak said Ukraine is heart of Russia Empire, he would get a life ban.

  10. Shrieking about Ukraine isn’t “controversial”. Is there a list of non-controversial political statements a sports person can make?

  11. The so called 'peaceful west' have created a state out of Kosovo purely to keep the region unstable. Yet when over 8 million catalans wanted to at least hold a referendum on independence, Spain supported by the EU crushed any chance of even the vote being held.

  12. Sportsman can have an opinion. But I care more about his or her performance

  13. Typical Serb thinking… Next he will open a holiday inn and use it as a brothel just like the Serbs did during the war

  14. Its sraange how wen we metion other wars we are told to keep politics out of sports

  15. Free speech. You don't have to agree. But we should defend with our life to say it

  16. Sky never cover tennis, so they are trying to get a scoop here as usual, they are predominantly football and F1 that's where the money is, but hardly ever mention tennis, they have poor information and just look to fill gaps whilst showing boring repeats, it won't be long before their reporters play the very dull transfer market guessing game 😱😱.

  17. First of all the statement that Djokovic made was NOT contentious! Djokovic wrote that "Kosovo is the heart of Serbia", a well-known fact since the territory of Kosovo is in Serbia and there is no way that it can be in anyone else's territory unless it is occupied by a foreign entity! He added — "Stop the violence" — which meant exactly that! Obviously Djokovic did not "ignite a political dispute following his victory over an American tennis player" by stating "Stop the violence"! We all know that the world is being divided and it soon will become a multi-polar one. There is no reason for the Anglo-American and European (with five exceptions) press to create a makeshift country out of a sovereign territory by force. Kosovo is the heart of Serbia. Stop the violence!
