Discraft Cascade Challenge F9 ft. Chandler “Chanimal” Fry

This week we find ourselves in Shelton, WA for the Discreet Cascade Challenge presented by Grip EQ with a very special guest. Chandler Fry hails from Olympia, just 20 minutes down the street, and with this being one of his home courses it makes sense that his backhand gap hitting and strong putting highlight his game! It was a blast having the hometown hero on the channel after his strong showing at Beaver State Fling and we even put a weighty wager of Shiny Pokemon on the line for added pressure.

  1. I definitely like watching woods golf rather than open fields. Congrats on the top 10 Chandler. Thanks for signing my river Connor!

  2. Quality content as always. Keep it up Connor. Also after hearing Nate and you this past weekend we need a commentator battle. Perkins and you, QueenFish, and depending on coast either Jerm and Uli or Uli and Nate and add the Two Hot Geese for match play doubles.

  3. If you guysvhave a chance, fort stielacoom is an awesome course as well

  4. It's interesting that the most interesting courses to watch aren't on the pro tour and I think it just has everything to do with cell service right now lol

  5. This is my home course. I'm a 35 year playing, not very good, MA50 player. I, and most of the people I play with, consider Shelton Springs, especially from the tees they are playing, very long holes (plus tight gaps). Watching these guys put things within putting range (especially hole 8…are you kidding me?!?), really makes me feel how much better the pros are than us mere mortals. I remember playing a round of random doubles with Chandler on the card about 15 years ago at a now defunct course in Olympia, Yauger Park. There was a basket across a baseball field none of the rest of us could reach (probably 400 feet). Chandler steps up, throws a putter, and parks it under the basket. And that was 11 years before he became a touring pro. Shameless plug for anyone visiting the area for the tournament: Check out the other local home course (Evergreen State College) which Chandler mentioned as well (it's even more wooded), and stop by Package Express Disc Golf in Olympia, a fantastic local shop and huge supporters of the local scene.

  6. In Washington we call it Ralphie Rules. Ralph Williamson PDGA #10 dictated that you always threw 2 on 1.
    Chan man owes yoduh a $1 for a CTP!! 😆 🤣
