Amazing how Andy Cole is never mentioned in these discussions – if he was United’s penalty taker he’d definitely be a lot, lot closer to Shearer, in a lot less games.

Rooney played on the left of a front three for Man Utd over two seasons. So he could play wide. Not sure why Micah was so surprised by that.
Shearer had no skill or dribbling technique. He was simply the classic English target man

Nobody strikes the ball better than Kane. Not Aguero, not Haaland. They're not as clinical. Even when they're down 6-0 against Newcastle, Kane dribbles half the pitch and slots it in the bottom corner with no help. He's also a better header than those guys and plays in a worse team. There's a reason he's going to break the all-time goalscoring record.
