  1. This reminds me of the time when Davis was seriously talking about the joke of Ronnie and Judd.🤣🤣

  2. Love these. Drop the bleeping? Take advantage of the platform… I reckon it'd get you a few more views, that. We're all adults here 🙂

  3. Two legendary snooker players who dominated snooker in their eras. Steve Davis, the multiple times World Champion playing like my uncle in the bar!! Haha! Love this!!

  4. In the early 90s Dubai was trying to establish itself as a tourist destination and started holding international golf and tennis events.
They put on a snooker exhibition at the Dubai Trade Center and me and a few mates drove down from Abu Dhabi to watch.
    I'm guessing it was August 2nd 1990.
I'm not saying the Dubai public were not educated in the grand art of snooker but their reaction to one shot might suggest this was the case.
Davis was up the top of the table and didn't have a shot on so he attempted to play off a couple of cushions clip a red then back up behind the colours.
He played off the left side cush, cue ball going past the black, off the bottom cushion, clipped the red perfectly, off the right cushion, back up the table between the colours, then the cue ball slowly rolled to the edge of the pocket, where it teetered for what seemed like an age and dropped into the pocket.
Before the referee had a chance to say "foul, four points Hendry", the crowd were on their feet clapping and cheering.
Davis just stood there looking at the crowd with a serious "WTF" look on his face.

I guessed it was August 1990 for the following reason.
The auditorium was laid out with a gallery of seats going up maybe 20 rows – getting higher towards the back, but where the front 3 or 4 rows should have been was a flat VIP area with comfortable leather arm chairs and coffee tables.
The start of the matches was delayed until the VIPs arrived and settled. They were UAE locals, in Dishdashas. They sat, were served tea and the signal to start was given.
After about twenty minutes someone approached the VIPs, a quick conversation as had and the whole VIP section just upped and left.
While our snooker superstars were playing their shots a bunch of spectators 10 rows back realised there were now comfy chairs available at the front, and scrambled their way down through the rows of seats, climbing over everybody else to get there.

Davis and Hendry just stood their wondering what the fuck was going on.

I went with August 2nd, 1990 because the VIPs were government officials, and they left because Iraq had invaded Kuwait.

  5. What I love about Tony Drago is the fact that even when he is not in the room, he provides a moment of hilarity (without forgetting the point that he cleared up the table in that story).

  6. Steve Davis was the player that got me hooked on snooker in the 80's when I was just a 14yr old lad. Living in Sheffield I was walking near the Crucible one Saturday whilst the finals were on and Steve walked past me. I dashed into a shop and bought a notebook & pen and ran after him, he was kind enough to give me his autograph and I thought 'Wow', and I was star struck. From that day I was hooked on the game, so thanks Steve.

  7. both of their cue actions are as good as in their prime (when they get it right), it's the mince pies that are the problem.
