His yardage for 7 iron is 145 yards.
This is why I use clubs from 1926, forgivness is for loosers
I think Berger on the PGA hits the irons
Probably wanted more weight on the wedges to help go through the thick rough.
I give Block thumbs-up for his tenacity and determination. As he said it was the best time of his life. Great video Simon, well done!
was waiting for you to drop this video.I knew it was comin lol
he may not have won the tournament but he won our hearts
I don't think him having old clubs is that unique. I'm pretty sure most pro golfers had similar bags when they were fighting their way into the pro ranks. He'll have some new clubs soon enough I am sure….or maybe not.
Amazing… its like maybe you really don't need that $1600+ set of irons, or that $500 SC putter, or that $500 Calloway driver, or those $60 a dozen ProV1's, to play a decent round of golf.
It's not one of the biggest highlights. It's his home course. On a decently known course, with average clubs, my friend shoots 67 to 59 on the course. It hosted the PGA (a non-profit organization) and the seniors tour many times. The pressure kept mounting and he finished 15th and won 288,333 thousand dollars. What a great finish. You will never hear his name again. And most humans don't play with nearly his amount of money in the bag. He's using a custom Stealth 2 driver. Very inexpensive. Those irons are still original 1000 dollars retail plus custom work.
To compound upon the Lee Trevino shout; that’s why one must mind their quiver. How you fire and what you fire with is one of the most enjoyable things about the game. Your discipline and capability matched with clubs you know, love and trust. I play SM4 Vokeys because I can’t let them go.😂
I recently ‘upgraded’ my ancient 5 wood for a modern Srixon. I tried dozens but Srixon delivered exactly what my old bat did.😂
Micheal Block and Jason Day are showing every average golfer that you don't need the latest and greatest golf clubs to win… My brother has a friend who is a legit scratch player and for year's he used a old set of blade he had. And people always asked this guy why he didn't buy new clubs? And his response was, he knew exactly how far each club would go with his swing. it wasn't until 2 years ago that he had to buy some new irons because he had taken his irons to get the grooves sharpened and the face of the clubs refinished and they messed it up and his irons started to rust…
You talk too much get to the point
While not a PGA pro this guy is the 9 time section player of the year in one of the largest congregation of pga pros in the united states, he can play, period. He had a great week and using statistics if he plays 25 times on the PGA tour he would struggle, but he only needed his one week and deserves all the credit for getting it done. He probably struggles at Colonial, and if I were him I would take the money on a club deal next week because his chances are pretty low to win money by finishing high.
Certain sites are saying his woods were Stealth 2’s!
I always liked the tour preferred clubs. I bought a set of 2014 MCs, they’re like butter. Eye of the beholder
Watch this with captions on, sound off
Tour issue line on putter not sharpie.
Jason Day was using older clubs with his win as well it’s the player not his tools
It was under $300,000 not over $288,333 to be exact…
That just shows that the guy knows his clubs in and out and used them like extensions of his own body. Good video!
adore my stealth 3w HL (its really a 4w with it being at 16.5*).
Will be very interesting to see if Block falls to temptation and changes up the bag with more new stuff for next week… I hope not… Play what you know! Wish him all the best! What a story!👍
It's the Indian" Not the Arrows………..!
Lol I have a Tour Preferred 1 iron in my bag I’ve had it for years, it’s the oldest club I game. Besides a putter I occasionally swap in Scotty Red X2
what golf shoes are those
Block basically proved that you don't need the latest and greatest. Just need to learn your equipment you already use
