AFL is jobs for the boys and that goes for a lot of the boys drafted. its got more to do with what family connection you have or are you attending the correct school. You just have to look at Eastern Ranges and the connection to Rowville Secondary College. If your not in a clique you have no hope. I know a young fella who blitzed in all the testing beating all of the lads who are playing seconds now and was a gun footballer and is a 6 foot 4 running machine at 95 kilos who ran state cross country. Not picked because not in the clique. Last I heard he is in the USA playing basketball on a college scholarship. I know at least another 5 or so like him.
A coach is only as good as his players. Just like in nfl, nba etc coaches get too much credit. He finished off poorly with a bad hawks team and now hes going terribly for north. Its players like hodge, buddy, mitchell, lewis, gunston, roughead, bruest, burgoyne, Gibson, lake that win the games.
That Trent Dumont has been such a great get for Port. He has lit it up! 🔥
The bloke is clueless. Corr averages more intercepts than Houston, McKenzie & Bonner, more rebounds Bergman, Houston, McKenzie & Allir and more one percenters than the entire Port backline!

@kanecornes what’s the difference between the allegations against Thomas and Clarkson. If ( in your opinion) it’s good enough for Thomas not be able to play for at least 6 weeks why haven’t you said that Clarkson shouldn’t coach for the same amount of time. Kane is right. I’ve been following the Roos for over 50 years, historically we’ve been a team of battlers, we were famous for it, the shinboners, but not now though – and not for the last 7 years ! When they run onto the ground their body language is poor, it’s like they don’t want to be there. Those statistics indicate the coaching staff are either incompetent, or the players don’t believe them. There IS something rotten at the state of Arden street.

Its his first season there and people are on his back already. Give him a couple seasons to get young talent and build a side.
They gave Jared Polec a 5 year deal at 3.5mil. No wonder the club is a shambles.
