  1. I'm from Chicago and listen to local sports talk and I haven't heard anyone mention they traded early to stop the speculation. This is the 1st time I've heard anyone suggest that and, yeah, it's dumb. They wanted the trade done before free agency.

  2. ^which is why the panthers aren't stupid for trading up to number 1. there's a huge hole for young NFC quarterbacks besides Hurtz (mayyybe fields/Purdy? that's about it), and they realized that giving away DJ Moore for the chance at an elite young quarterback means a hell of a lot more in the NFC (especially the NFC south!) than the AFC.

The fact is that if Carolina gets even a decent return on a Number 1 overall QB, they could possibly end up with a top 3 quarterback in the NFC in like 3 years, even if he doesn't exceed every expectation and just plays to his ceiling.

  3. Fields sees wide open receivers good and if it's even close to 50/50 balls or anticipation throws he's way underwhelming and running is his hope. Unfortunately he's a QB not a RB
