  1. Dude had 5 different OCs in his first 5 seasons, so I get where he's coming from. I can remember seeing Singletary absolutely laying into him on the sideline, and I'm sure not having an offensive HC until Harbaugh came in stunted his growth significantly

  2. What I worry about with Staley and the chargers, if the chargers succeed this year Moore our new oc is gone.

  3. I think Mike Florio is a little too generous with Mike Zimmer. They picked cousins because he took care of the football, and then more or less blamed him when they were losing from a sh*t defense.

  4. Honestly, this is a bit shortsighted of a take….let's think about this, best coaches, 1. Belichik – Defense, 2. Reid – Offense, 3. Tomlin – Defense, 4. Carroll – Defense, 5. Payton – Offense. Looks to me that you just need to get a guy who can communicate, manage personalities, and delegate.

  5. Defensive coaches are submarine captains of the navy. They rarely make admiral. Offensive coaches are naval aviators who go on to command aircraft carriers and then make admiral.

  6. When a good defensive team doesn't turn the ball over they usually have a chance to win. That's why Belichick hasn't bottomed out in 24 years..

  7. Alex Smith is right. He’s also speaking from experience. Alex played for Mike Singletary and Singletary was an absolute disaster as head coach. The media treated Singletary with kid gloves because he was a Rooney Rule HC, a Hall of Fame player, and he was good for few sound bites. But Singletary was a mess with the QB position. He was a mess.

  8. If you hire a really good QB coach, OC and Playcaller I don’t think it matters. But generally what Alex is saying is true.

  9. Are we sure that wasn’t Ryan Gosling wearing a bit of aging make up and pretending to be Alex Smith?

  10. Just sub in Lets Go Brandon and you have the peoblem in in Boltz camp.
Unless he completely lets go of any offensive calls, training etc, MY TEAM is doomed to yet another year of absolutely wasting J10's best years.
The only contact he should be allowed with the O is a high 5 or knux after a big play.

  11. Bitcoin has been a resilient and valuable asset, and it will continue to shape finance some say bitcoins performance is tied to the stock market. but I disagree! Bitcoin Unique properties make it a great hedge against inflation, regardless of the stock market. keeping up with current and strategies can help traders stay ahead of the curve and make informed decisions. it is important for beginners in trading and investing to understand the success in these fields. this gives me confidence to trade the assets and it's only a matter of time before bitcoin outperforms every other asset?

  12. The first person I thought hearing this is Kenny Pickett. He's got a defensive head coach and a sorry excuse for an OC

  13. I question offensive/defensive coaches who have to call the plays for their teams to be successful. A great coach is a ceo who puts people below him in the position to succeed.

  14. Funny how Chris Simms didnt have any issues with the coaching staff before the sesson started. Now that it hasnt worked out hes jumping on the Smith take so that he doesn't look silly gushing over Wilson so much

  15. Very true some Teams don't have the right coaches to develop and groom young QBs Salah in New York Vrabel in TN but the difference is Vrabel this year brought in Charles London as QBs coach that should really help the QBs on his roster especially Malik and Levis Charles London is a respected offensive mind in the league

  16. I think the best case scenario for a defensive HC is to hire the right offensive coordinator to develop a young QB. If that young QB develops and you don't screw it up he'll be able to continue to produce and be successful once the OC gets offered a HC job and leaves. If you hire the wrong guy for a young QB it just ruins everything. Years get wasted, development gets stunted and then the rookie contract is almost up and the pressure is increased for that QB to prove himself before they go in another direction. Justin Fields is somewhat in that boat. They absolutely screwed him the first year and it was a total waste. He's a year behind where he should be but he still has time to prove himself and hopefully Getsy doesn't get poached before his development is complete.

  17. I’m glad you brought up Brandon Staley! I think he’s been a total bust for the Chargers! His boneheaded playcalling kept the Chargers out of the playoffs the year before, and look at that disgraceful loss to Jacksonville! Playing his injured players in meaningless games, keeping them out of the Jacksonville game or being ineffective! Keeping Justin Herbert in a game when he was injured and didn’t need to be there! I think it’s a travesty that Justin Herbert couldn’t have The support of a Offensive minded, head, coach! I think the chargers ownership was too cheap to even look for a good head coach like Sean Payton, and didn’t fire Staley!

  18. This’d be the same Alex Smith who was drafted #1 over local prospect Aaron Rodgers to lead the ‘49ers to glory, would it? How’d that work out for him?

  19. As a Steelers Fan i guess Mike T & Big Ben were an anomaly because Mike T is definitely a Defensive Minded Coach but when we had the Killer B’s he let the Offense carry the team.
