The Leafs should dismiss Brendan Shanahan. There's a saying that a GM is lucky to replace a coach once and really lucky if they get to do so twice. Since 2014, he oversaw Nonis, Lamoriello, and Dubas. At some point, he should accept responsibility too.
It's time to focus on what the fans love, not what Auston Matthews loves. Tenacity and grit is needed, not love. Omg this generation of cotton balls.

Shanny's first call should be to the Wings and see if Kris Draper is interested in being a GM. He's a four-time Cup winner and Selke winner. Since he retired he's been learning under Ken Holland and now Steve Yzerman as Director of Amateur Scouting. He also grew up near Toronto.
