Winter Park 9 with Hickory Golf Clubs – Hickory Golf Course Vlog #46

A shot-by-shot hickory golf course vlog featuring Long Island, NY-based hickory golfer Christian Williams playing pre-1935 hickory golf at Winter Park 9 Golf Course in Winter Park, FL. Williams is a golf historian with a high handicap, sharing his passion for the game through this channel where he shows how to collect, repair, and play with antique, wood-shafted golf clubs. In this round, Williams, is using his pre-1935 “modern” hickory golf set featuring authentic 1920s and early 1930s golf clubs (details below). Welcome to the channel!

In this round, Williams is competing in the 2023 Winter Park Hickory Classic, which is one of the most popular hickory golf events in the country each January. Organized by Bill Geisler, the two-day event is a fantastic way to kick off the new year and often has a waiting list for entry. Keep tabs on this event and other regional hickory golf events by joining the Society of Hickory Golfers: www.hickorygolfers.com

A site for golf since 1914, Winter Park 9 has been considered one of the best nine-hole golf courses in the United States since an extensive 2016 restoration. Set in the middle of a busy Winter Park neighborhood and adjacent to the historic Casa Felix, WP9 is a short course but features some fearsome green complexes that are tough to hold.

  1. Another great video.Q; since the J iron you keep referencing is between your driving iron and your mashie is it the same as a mid-iron? Also can any putter be converted to a long putter???
