  1. Afther the TT Remco looked verry verry bad, normaly afther a few minits he is recoverd, not now, he was complete looking white . Even with covid in his boddy he won the TT . Still it was bad for the race he had to leave. Personaly , everyone who have covid in the peleton should leave it ! they always can contanimate otther riders. Annyway Chris enjoy youre chesterfield 😉

  2. Chris good videos, sometimes too long, keep it up.
Top form this year, really? Roglič Wins Tour of Catalonia, Remco wins Liege Bastogne only because Pogačar resigns, Giro, well illness and falls for which he is to blame. Is he really sick or is his form starting to drop?? As for the Tour de France, he really has no chance there.

  3. i think it's a great opportunity for Remco to go to the TDF without pressure : only for stages winning and helpfull for Merlier & Jakobsen. For the rest the big gain is the learning of the biggest race in the wolrd and the perfect preparation for the 2024 TDF. Just like Eddy Merckx in the Giro 1967 before his winning in 1968.

  4. + the SQS team build around Remco is still taking part at the Giro. They won't be able to make it in form to the TdF.

  5. Yes we know that Ineos were the best teams going in this Giro but we didn't know how much they are strong with the way that they had 5 very strong riders going in the 2nd week especially adding Laurens De Plus that has experience in the GT before with former Primoz teammate in TJV. Even without Ganna as they have still Puccio and Swift that has everything and experience. Matteo Tosatto has a lot of ton of tactics going in this exciting Giro 🫡

  6. I can't see Ineos putting riders in breaks, it's not their style. They go all in for the GC Guy or Guys (Teo and Geraint) It's weird these days as Teams don't share the pace so much. If Teams put one or two riders on the front and share the pace with other Teams then each Team doesn't over stretch. Alas sharing the duties out doesn't seem to be the way now

  7. He won't count in TdF if he does.. Unless he is going on a serious juice session between now and then

  8. These five Ineos guys should get reduced in the later stages but still, they are in the box seat at the moment. The worst case scenario would be for Ineos to ride en bloc and revert to Sky tactics which would turn the Giro into a snore fest, as they have done countless times before. We still don't know if Thomas will carry the day, if he's the chosen lad, or Tao can stick with Primoz if he is on the form he's consistently shown in the high hills.
But none of us really know anything, Chris you're the guy with the deep experience, but the third week will either be epic or or a Ineos filled podium… And we don't want that!

  9. I don't get that reasoning of Ineos having to be in the attack. First of all, what happened to stay with your leader?
Second, Jumbo could go for the same tactics, they have a couple guys who could move up into top10 if they finish in a group. And Jumbo only has Roglic to support in the peloton so more guys are available to get into the attack.

Ineos should take the day off and just ride with the peloton.

  10. Covid or popped for vitamins? Hmmm. Little cool down before the tour testing circus?

  11. Big blow to Evenepoel. Taking Giro would've meant two grand tour wins with only TDF left. Too many GC riders only focus on TDF.

  12. I need a break from "Remco left the Giro"…FFS there's still some great riders left who can make an exciting race! There was never a total guarantee that he'd win. He only made it more interesting. Commentators talk like the inevitable winner has gone. Roglic. Geoghegan Hart. Thomas. Almeida. Vine. Vlasov. They will all make it interesting. Crashes and illness are (sadly) part of the outcome.
Ben Healy. "Irish" from Birmingham , might even win the whole thing with his form….I say as "Irish" from the same.😁

  13. Is there a rule that says you have to pull out because of Covid-19? I think it is very possible for Remco to push through and win this Giro. He just won the TT and there was a rest day, and 10 and 11 were not going to be decisive GC stages. The Giro was his main goal for 2023 and still seems within reach.

  14. fun fact
Evenepoel had no obligation to leave the race as both national and international health organizations have lifted all restrictions.
And according to media, he left the race as soon as he tested positive, without even trying to hang on through the rest day or trying to start on Tuesday's stage.
That is, either he felt truly sick, or …..

Personally, I believe as a matter of respect for the race and his moral obligations as professional racer, he should have stayed and, at least, try to start again on Tuesday.
Wasn't rooting for him before, even more so not doing it in the future

  15. I think Chris nailed it, but just at the end.

Ineos will put all their bets on Tao and G on week 3. Then they can do to roglic what jumbo did to Pog on col du granon.

They will use the other guys to eliminate all tjv guys then attack in turns in the valleys before last climbs, forcing Primosz and Almeida to chase them

  16. Remco was not sick, I just do not believe it. More and more people state this also.

  17. Not everyone Is convinced Remco actually has covid-19. I think it's more that Remco is afraid to face the truth rather than that is a serious illness. I think this is a move motivated by cowardice more than illness.

  18. I think that the main reason Remco dropped out of the race is that he does not have the advantage of three minutes over Roglic, as he predicted. Capish?

  19. This might be controversial, but could it be that Remco only wants to ride when he thinks he will win?

  20. Remco looked a bit sick during the 2nd time trial. After the time trial, his wife said, " You have a cold sore on your lip." Remco replied to her."I think I am becoming sick." After that, his team announced that Remco tested positive on Covid and had to leave the Giro. So, no, this was not at all staged. Why would you work and train for 6 months to win the Giro and be in a good position, and then leave the Giro? Makes no sense. The day after Remco won that time trial he had a sore throat and a fever. Those are the facts.
