This was a win-win deal for both clubs. Tom Mitchell is a contested ball beast but an absolute liability by foot. He suffered a broken leg at the height of his career and I don't think he ever fully recovered. Over the past 2 years, his high-clearance high-possession games at Hawthorn had little impact on the result whereas now, all he has to do is feed the ball to guys like Pendlebury, Daicos, Crisp or DeGoey to make a difference. The Pies are a "win now" team and Mitchell might be the one who puts them over the top.
