OWGR – Coiin Morikawa is rated 19 after missing many cuts this year. I like Colin but his results aren't great this calendar year. Rankings have been an issue for decades and I don't expect them to improve anytime soon.
Brandel goes out of his way to talk shit about Mickelson. The pga would have never raised the prize money in the tournaments without liv.
I understand Brandel has to butter up the guys who pay the checks. However, Phil is the reason that the PGA tour has recently changed. We can hate Phil and scrutinize the words and some actions, but Phil and LIV golf in general have caused the old heads to rethink strategy and some of those strategies have benefited the wallet on the players. That’s the best evidence for anti competitive behavior. You tried so hard to stop a rival tour, it happened anyway, and you had to change. The longer LIV exists, the harder it’ll be to get rid of.
Tiger Woods cannot be your shining knight forever and to be honest there is no clear person carrying the torch. The PGA Tour has an identity crisis. Rory isn’t that guy. He can’t close, he can’t back it up. John Rahm is a maybe but I don’t think the fans connect with him. Cameron Smith might’ve been but he went to LIV. All the guys people would connect to went to LIV.
Let’s be honest, the four important tournaments are not run by the PGA tour. Without the majors tying it all together nobody watches some golf tournament in middle America.
