Tommy Fleetwood’s Swing: What You’re Doing Wrong (and How to Fix It)

Tommy Fleetwood is a world class player who has won tournaments on the DP World Tour and has contended in many majors here in America. I love parts of his golf swing, but in this video I will show you what NOT to copy from Tommy Fleetwood’s swing.

Be sure to watch this video to the end to learn EXACTLY what you can learn from him, and then what you should also NOT be doing.

  1. As a veteran swing coach, I only agree with you to a point: Tommy exaggerates what I term as the 'Skip A Rock' position of the head and body through the downswing but that said, maintaining that spine angle & head position ( with the right facial cheek almost parallel with the ground ) through impact is absolutely essential.
Another point I add is to MAKE SURE we don't see a golf ball anymore before momentum brings us upward, out of our swing position. Ever notice that when we look up AS we impact the golf ball that the shot is invariably a nice looking shot that is headed left? If I had to name my favorite bad habit as with MANY of my students and amateurs, that would be the one.
Also, extending the right arm AT impact, down the target line is also majorly important.
Good vid, and yes … Tommy is ( as they say in jolly olde England ), over the top with that excessive 'head bow.'
