No way she just did this….

  1. Insane, I so badly want some of these 400m, and 400m hurdle power houses compete at 800m.

  2. Show the dan-m race and stop jumping around so much. These videos are so annoying with the same parts of the races being showed 5 times.

  3. When she runs 48s don't be surprised. Shes only 0.08s faster than her indoor time right now. So im expecting a bigger drop.

  4. She is in shape to break 48s but judging by her race she will stay around 49s. I don't think she needs to run this fast now, she needs to pace herself.

  5. It is not that much of a surprise to me that Britton Wilson had the potential to do that. She have been an amazing 400 m runner for a couple of years now, clocking sup 49 sec in the ancker leg of 4×400 m. She is a huge talent, and I'm glad to see that she continue to improve. 49.4 is an international elite time – almost as fast af Femke Bol ran recently.

What everyone wants to know is how fast Sydney Mclaughlin can run 400 m flat as she clocked 47.9 in 4×400 m relay last year.

  6. She will improve still with the proper running technique. My favourites are McLaughlin and Richard-Ross. They look like they're gliding and with zero waste of energy. Bol is good but she is more of a power runner.

  7. It's weird she doesn't look that fast and she looks like she can improve her form

  8. Britton comes from Henrico, VA near Richmond. She initially went to Tennessee but had issues there and transferred to Arkansas. The Razorback move seems to have worked well for her. What I love is that she runs hard and runs through the tape without taunting her opponents or drawing attention to herself. Nothing wrong with running free in a preliminary round. Every athlete is different but I’ve always held (perhaps as an article of faith) that sportsmanship and showing respect to your competitors comes back to you in improved performance and certainly character. She seems to embody that spirit. 🇺🇸

  9. Seeing that she'll be running two individual finals (400M, 400MH) Saturday and will likely run the 4×400, maybe she gave us the record-breaking performance on Friday so she could run more strategically on Saturday. Last year, there was less than an hour between two of those races. She's special!!

  10. As a retired track coach there is an immutable fact about the 400: you cannot run record times in the preliminaries. I have never seen an athlete run their fastest time in a heat, and then run faster in the finals. And, we don’t want our athletes breaking records when they could have eased up significantly in the final 100. She is a phenom now, but we need her to be a phenom around August for the World Championships. You have only so many matches, and you do not want to burn them all in races where it is not needed.

  11. Yes, she's a medal threat in the 400m, 400m hurdles, and the 800m. She runs like a miler

  12. I’m taking Diggs. If Britton didn’t have a runner with a sub 50 in the chamber a stagger up, then she might go low but those kinds of prelim World beating times seem to have a habit of being race dynamic driven. Diggs also uniquely is one of the only runners to hit a SB but still have room to go quicker to even touch their PB. I think Diggs doesn’t allow herself to be reeled in like that and Britton won’t shotgun out into the final 200m. Problem is if Britton goes with her, she’s incredibly strong. She’s a 400m hurdler aka a masochist – she’s not gassing out. She’s also doubling the hurdles and set the facility record in prelims. Solely bc I don’t think a normal human should be able to do that, I have to bet on Diggs.

Let’s see who eats their wheaties

  13. I don’t know what going on with her because this is looney tunes!!! The only thing I can think of is that she went for a time on fresh legs, leaving her to just focus on winning instead of chasing a time after running individual & possible relay rounds.

  14. If she loses the finals, this will be a great lesson for runners on how not to run a championship series

  15. She is very remarkable. However, leg cycle and pronation is not the best. She needs work on her knees. This proves that if she gets it correct…. She'll be a 48.5 and sub 48 runner in no time!!!

  16. 400M, 400MH in the same day and kill it like that. That is absolutely insane the kind of shape someone like her is in.

  17. She's a 400M runner. Forget the 800. She has a perfect style for the 400M. Britton is also in epic shape, Have not seen Femke Bol running outdoors yet this year, but she was killing the indoor season. Very exciting with Sidney Mc also in the mix. Athing Mo should stick to the 800m and work hard because Hodgkinson is in AWESOME shape too.

  18. She really does look like an 800m runner. With a 1:25 600m it definitely makes sense to try it. The speed base and that speed endurance points toward mid to high 1:50s potential.

  19. She’s ready. She’s always a talented athlete, I think it’s her season to shine. Now is her time. ❤

  20. I 5hink Britton will break 49s . I'd love to see Britton Wilson, Syd. ATHING mu and Abby, run for the WR 4x400m. I'm sure they could do it today, but waiting for WC will be all the better

  21. Still a goofy-foot (lower leg flailing) like she's not yet fully developed. Imagine another year or two. Potential 48-low?

  22. the hardest thing to see here is her effort level for this race. Clearly, there was no one there to push her, but she did just break the collegiate record. if her intent was to go out and push herself to the max, then a similar time is expected. If she was running that race like a favorite in a prelim and still broke a record (scary), then we could be seeing something insane.

  23. Just a little correction… The 4th Fastest time of 2023 so far is Rhashidat Adeleke – 49.90. She was 2nd when Britton ran 49.51 at the Tom Jones invitational. 2:45 and 1:37 on the timestamp

  24. She is such a young talent. She is very dedicated and disciplined. I think she is in 49.2 – 49.3 form. So I am predicting a 49.22 sec for the final.

  25. She's incredible. If she starts running some 200s to build explosiveness she could be a really serious force in the 400. And why not the 800 with that stride of hers? Just amazing.

  26. I had to laugh because she said after the race that she likes to run the prelims like it's the final. Welp…talk about serving notice…

  27. The Untied States has the potential to run under 3:15 in the Women’s 4X400 in the World Cup they could really put two teams together Bol , Mohammed , Steiner , Britton
