  1. "Tommy Walsh, you're involved in GAAGO, what are your unbiased views on the platform?"

  2. Most public broadcasters in Europe have free to air sports channels. RTÉ have money for wall-to-wall coverage of the EPL ATM at weekends. The other option is create a dedicated TG4 sports channel.

  3. Huge fan of Tommy. Wish he didn't get involved in the money grabbing at the expense of the elderly that is Gaago. They have it tough enough and now many of them have been denied their greatest pleasure, watching a good hurling match. This is unforgivable for me. Putting an amateur sport behind a pay wall is wrong on every level.

  4. Well said Shane, the broadcasting of the coronation on Irish national broadcasting was a disgrace.

  5. Ah com tommy comparing antrim losing to kilkenny 17pts,in relation free to view on national broadcaster's, to heat of munster championship

  6. Why dont the GAA sell broadcasting rights to all free to air TV companies in this country like a package of games to RTE and another package to Virgin media. Give some radio rights to newstalk. That would solve the problem. Most elderly people wouldnt be able to get their head round the GAAGO craic never mind having to pay for it. Always a pleasure listening to Tommy. Cant understand why he"s not a pundit on Sunday game.

  7. Here is one that a lot of journalists are forgetting to mention. GAAGO gave them a season pass for free. No wonder a lot are not fighting the corner for the normal person. I am lucky to have a season ticket to see Limerick play but I would still like to see more games too. The Grab All Association and RTE at the top level have been insulting by making so much profit from our national games.

  8. Putting the championship back into April is why it's clashing with rugby. Hurling championship should start in May and finish in September like it used to. Then it isn't competing with soccer and rugby for TV time.

  9. why wont the gaa look at doing some friday night games restrict it to teams that are close in geography so they dont have to travel far games could throw in around 8.15 to give people time to get to game.

  10. Full credit to tg4 streaming has given fantastic coverage over the year especially on under 20s and under 17s , just bare coverage of the matches no frills that all fans want .

  11. Adrians comment at 12:40 about elitism in GAA is a valid point. TG4 should be getting alot more Championship matches.

  12. Do people not go to games? The same whingers crying about the cost of entry to matches, bitching about paying €75 for access to 38 games on a pay per view platform. Would have no trouble spending that on a night out mind. Unbelievable guff.

  13. what about an extra chanel called RTE Sport which would be a channel like RTE News Now which constantly runs, then any excess games can be showed there in tandem with RTE 2. Then when big games arent on other Irish sport could be shown. Is it naive think its that easy to set up a whole new channel.

  14. Tommy is a hurling man, he's wrong about a roscommon v sligo connacht championship final, roscommon would have beaten sligo by same margin of victory, it's division 1 v a team coming out of division 4
