Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp joined Sky Sports News to discuss Antonio Conte’s departure from the club and what could happen next at Spurs.
Tottenham announced Conte’s assistant Cristian Stellini will be acting head coach for the rest of the season, with Ryan Mason assistant head coach.
Conte departs Tottenham after 16 months in charge following an extraordinary rant against his players after they threw away a 3-1 lead at rock-bottom Southampton to cap a miserable March for the club in which they were dumped out of both the FA Cup and the Champions League to leave them without a trophy for another season stretching back to 2008.

Conte had the 2nd most points per game of any Spurs manager in PL history, 0.01pts behind Poch. He had the best start to a Spurs season in PL history. He was on pace to be only the 2nd manager in club history to secure back to back Champion’s League appearances. He did this despite a coach dying, two close friends dying, and needing lifesaving surgery himself all in the span of a few months. We’ll look back a year from now and realize that the fans turning on Conte was one of the most uniquely dumb thing any fanbase in the history of sports has ever done.
