Emotional trainer celebrates first winner in over 400 days | Racing TV

Paul Webber has been training winners since November 1995, but the last year has been the most difficult of his long career and the Grade 1-winning trainer was not short of emotion after Eyed won a class 4 handicap hurdle – worth just over £5000 to the winner – at Huntingdon under jockey Daryl Jacob.

The trainer gives some sort of insight into the difficulty for the trainer and more generally when things are not going right, while Webber reveals he has had to deal with further adversity and difficult circumstances in this short yet revealing interview with Rishi Persad.

Onwards and upwards now for all the team based at Copredy Lawn in Banbury and Oxfordshire and our best wishes to Paul after a difficult time, one which the trainer acknowledges as undoubtedly the toughest of his career.
