Shot Scope X5 Review | The BEST golf GPS watch of 2023!

The best golf GPS watch of 2023?

A GPS watch that tracks all your shots and gives you over 100 statistics. What more could you want?

The Shot Scope X5 is incredibly easy to use and covers so much more than your everyday GPS watch. With dynamic front, middle and back distances to the green, front and carry distances to hazards, green view and pin placement, layup points and dogleg distances and more, the Shot Scope X5 has you covered on the course.

What separates the Shot Scope X5 from other GPS watches is the access to over 100 stats, including strokes gained. You can access this data at the end of your round when you’ve synced your watch to the app or desktop and revisit and identify where your game needs work.

Shot Scope Academy is available for your coach to sign up to so they can gain access to your profile and review your round, tailoring your coaching sessions to work on your weaknesses.

We sent our Gear Editor James Tait to see just how good the Shot Scope GPS X5 watch really is.

  1. I have been using the X5 for 6 games. So far my experience with shot tracking is that it requires 30minutes of editing post round. GPS lock is better since the software update last week. It locks within 20 seconds compared to 3 to 5 minutes before the update. Scoring is unreliable. You should keep a scorecard.

  2. I have used the X5 for a number of rounds and it has been great. Quick GPS connection, only one missed shot in 7 rounds, very minor editing required mainly on the green which takes about 5 minutes on my PC. The types of stats recorded are fantastic and really useful. I had the V3 before which is excellent but the X5 is a definite upgrade .
