MLB’s TRAGIC 10. Where are they now?

MLB’s top 10 prospects from 2013 were a uniquely talented group. But their careers were plagued by bad breaks, injuries, and death. Tyler Skaggs, Jose Fernandez, and Oscar Taveras were all top 10 prospects, and 10 years later, all three are dead. This is the story of the most tragic top 10 prospect ranking ever.

  1. Tragic 10??? How can you compare a tragedy such as the death of Jose to someone that has been injury prone and not lived up to potential? smh

  2. Matt Harvey should be banned from baseball for life. If you know you know. RIP to Skaggs, Fernandez, and Kansas City's Beloved Ace:'(

  3. I’m a big marlins fan and I miss Jose Fernandez so much I like to think what would have happened if he has not died I miss you rip Jose

  4. I’ve always said that any baseball channel that uses Donkey Kong Country music in the background would become my favorite baseball channel. I guess this is my favorite baseball channel now.

  5. The funny part about this is that the MLB hasn't ever, nor has anyone else, acknowledged the 2013 prospect class as anything like this. There's absolutely nothing online like this except your vid. No one else calls them tragic or anything else. Look up 2013 Top 10 prospects and there isn't a single article about any of this. So the only person calling them the Tragic 10 is you? 🤷

  6. Damn good video. That Jose Fernandez death was horrific. I'm a Braves fan and that hurt because as a competitor he was fun to watch and was a hell of a pitcher. That dude was on another level.

  7. Man José hurts as a Marlins fan I couldn't believe the news felt like I lost someone I knew rip 🙇‍♂️

  8. Jose Fernandez is dearly missed. To this day Mike Redmond (then Marlins manager) has not gotten a managerial gig ever since throwing Jose under the bus for pimping out his first career HR. As a manager, you protect your players publicly and reprimand them privately.

  9. Fernandez’s death still hurts. I’m a Cubs fan, but I have to wonder what would have been different in the last 7 years had Jose not died. The Marlins may have kept their core together and found success. Jose might’ve won a CY or 2. It’s just tragic

  10. As a Marlins fan I miss Jose so much. His death changed the entire franchise. I remember in 2016 a game he pitched i asked for his autograph but he told me outside and i knew where the marlins came out after the game, jose came out saw me and then the rest of the fans came over signed for everyone in the line and then went on his way. Absolute gem of a human. Miss him so much.

  11. Man, I still can’t watch that Dee Gordon homer without getting choked up. Just absolute cinema and what everyone needed after such a horrible tragedy.

  12. Fernandez was AMAZING. His slurve was so nasty and eveytime he pitched I would watch on MLB extra innings or on the MLB app. I was always in amazment watching him pitch, and tried to mimic his delivery in my baseball games.

  13. Yankees “MLB most hated team”?! COPIUM! The Astricos* took that distinction away a few years ago

  14. I don’t even know why MLB has a draft. Seems like there is a 1% chance if you draft someone they’ll actually end up playing for your team lol.

  15. 12:01 well it’s not really impossible if he did it 8 times before. I could’ve sworn at the beginning you said everyone on the list was dead. Gerrit Cole is dead? Or just his career with no illegal substances?

  16. Fernandez was a stud and tavares was a future stud. As a cardinals fan tavares still hurts. I was 9 at the time and still remember the exact moment my dad told me he passed
