Why Golfers Are The WORST Practicers in Sports | Mental Game LIVE – Ep. 7 #golf #golftips #practice

Most golfers are terrible when it comes to practice. Whenever they show up, they head to the range, get a couple toe-touches in, and start moving through the bag starting with the wedge and ending with the driver. There is no process to it, and they end up chasing feels, which could be good or bad.

In episode 7 of Mental Game LIVE, we talk about how to set up your practice by breaking it into three main components: the warmup, foundations, and competition training.

  1. The problem is not the ball! These are better and more fit athletes physically and mentally. They have more science to optimise launch conditions. If anything make the club head less forgiving . Standardise the lofts of clubs and limit the weight a shaft can be. Golfers are only get better, they will not regress. USGA and R&A have fumbled once again.

  2. Watched MGL again today. You spoke of the walk from the practice tee to the first tee. I call it The Boulevard of Broken Dreams. So many golfers can not differentiate warm up and playing. There is no correlation. I always shake my head when golfers at my Club say " I hit it so good on the range, but played like crap". I was one of them until I started reading and listening to your programs. Can't wait for MGL #8. I always learn something. The book on how to compete would be unique and a game changer in sport.
