Offaly below Meath?! | Provincials a ‘Trojan horse’ | Tommy’s GAA Power Rankings #8

Tommy Rooney is back to defend his choices in the eight edition of the Power Rankings and boy, oh boy was there some defending to do. With Meath above Offaly, Sligo not getting their credit and Down leaping up the table.

  1. No movement for Monaghan. Sack Tommy 'cement rankings' Rooney.
Monaghan have beaten three teams above them in last 6 weeks (two away from home), another two were a division below them.
Should Monaghan really be ranked below Roscommon, Armagh, Tyrone and Derry? That is not clear to me.

  2. Tommy's stance on Westmeath is being shown for the farce it is, Offaly have to be ahead of Meath

  3. A successful champo for every county
    Al Ireland win= Dublin/Kerry
    All Ireland final= Galway/mayo/Derry/Tyrone.
    All Ireland semi= Roscommon/monaghan/Armagh/Donegal
All Ireland quarter= other six counties.
Anything less is either expected of them or a failure.

  4. You cannot assume there's ANY "quality" currently in Meath football at present.
"Quality" inevitably rises to the top and at present only a fool would back Meath to win their way out of a Paper Bag.
Colm O'Rourke spent DECADES criticising some really good managers, but, as he is now discovering, it is FAR easier to manage from behind a Pundits desk than on a training field – but don't worry – when the County Board get sense and sack O'Rourke, RTE and every other Broadcaster in the country will fall all over themselves to rehire this loser…

  5. So if you beat a team well in Championship you stay behind them in the rankings. Makes sense…

  6. Louth have come from behind against Meath, Cork and now Westmeath but yet they’re not suited to come from behind?

  7. Sligo surely won't be moving any higher when they will probably lose at least 2/3 more games this year and teams behind them that are in the Tailteann Cup will be winning games?

  8. Ian Burke was non existent in the Roscommon game. The Dubs should be ranked second. I don’t know how Mayo stayed in third after losing to Roscommon 😂
