2023 Samui Swine Classic X presented by Prodigy Discs – MPO Feature Card – Round 1 – Baci
Featuring: Philo Brathwaite, Scott Stokely, Tomi Lehtonen, Pichet Panturat
Camera: The Disc Golf Guy
Edit: The Disc Golf Guy
Commentary: The Disc Golf Guy
Location: Samui Disc Golf, Koh Samui, Thailand
Date: Friday, February 3, 2023.
After I’ve had a 2 year hiatus, I’m back on the island of Samui and I couldn’t be happier about it. I managed to take a break from my scooter sightseeing to catch this first round of MPO action on Friday afternoon. It’s a great card as I promise you that you’ll be seeing at least one face you’ve never seen on coverage before in Pichet. Is he the best Thai National to play disc golf? I think the world is about to find out.
Ultimately every single shot was recorded but it certainly was a wild ride out there.

Sorry fairly common Northern schizophrenic genetics my brother gets a hold of my phone starts communicating
He is a player dough
Thanks, Terry!
I would love to play disc golf in Guam
Glad you and the camera survived the monsoon! 😳
did love the catch cam positions, good call
I played at a bible college in Ensenada Mexico. baskets were falling apart. Fixed as many as I could find. had a great time playing in the summer sun.
A course where philo gets to throws his rocs and putters the entire time? I'm in heaven.
Just started playing, but I got to play a cool little course in Idaho up in the mountains. That was fantastic. Also once saw a pig on the fairway at a local course 😂
Thanks for the coverage! When Terry drops Samui Swine, off-season must be nearly over 🙂 I played a bunch exotic and windy of courses in Iceland when I lived there in 2016, they have a great scene going on. Also, I once did some field work on sea ice somewhere around here in Helsinki.
The island of Gotland in the city of Visby is my most exotic course. Gotland is a Swedish island in the Baltic Sea, known for its medieval ring wall around the town of Visby and ancient monuments from the Viking Age.
Played in Pattaya with Pichet. 😁
I have not gone anywhere exotic to play disc golf, but my favorite course so far has been Idlewild. I hope to mix in some disc golf in future vacations and add to my list!
Sandy point resort in lac du flambeau WI!
I was lucky enough to play in 3 of the 4 Inparcerated events, held inside the Old Joliet Prison. It was such a surreal and awesome experience, hoping it comes back in years to come. Thanks as always for the amazing coverage!
Delwood 😂
My most exotic disc golf was Base Camp in Moab Utah. You need a high clearance vehicle just to get there about an hour drive. It was an awesome day with beautiful views and disc golf.
That disc Stokely uses for overhands is stablleee lol
Oahu Hawaii and Discgolf terminalen in Bergsbyn/Skellefteå.
Just "chicken" things out. Lol.
Not going to lie. I have always wanted to try double g craft jerky.. If I was a millionaire I might eat it 😂 That is the most expensive beef jerky I've ever seen. I can't even afford to try it 😂☠️
Single cam dual perspective coverage! You the man Terry!
Oh man boring course resume for me but I would love to play in Hawaii or Europe
My most exotic DG experience has been in Hawaii on the island of Oahu @ the university playing object golf on a designed course right through the university grounds and @ Bellows Air force Base. Bellows was right off the water & the strong sea breeze was the main challenge, but ocean views behind some putts was amazing. I played last February in Albuquerque New Mexico in a rattlesnake infested piece of land. I was very happy it was cool out still & they were in their dens.
On the last hole #22 I was surprised Pichet being left handed, did not putt around the left hand side of the tree on hyzer. That seemed like the highest probability putt in that instance.
So I know Scott has a backhand, I mean he's a phenomenal disc golf player. So is it that he is just purposefully only throwing forehands for this tournament for some reason? Some of these short par 3s have very clear easy backhand lines but he always picks a difficult forehand line.
Pichet Panturat out there doing his thing 💪 super cool seeing him on the card
I think what you did with catch cam angle on the back “9” here was very well done. It’s cool to see both sides!
I've only played in Alabama but have plans to travel abroad soon!
Most exotic was an extinct volcano in Auckland New Zealand
Give this guy a like!!! He is out there filming, doing commentary, I’m sure editing. This guy is grinding
I live in Belize where there are now 8 courses! Jungle, open and beach courses! Come in down!
Most exotic course I have played is Fountain Hills Park. Most exotic course I want to play is Krokhol in Norway!
Thanks for the coverage. Love getting my "off season" disc golf itch scratched.
Out of curiosity: do you (Terry) play in any tournaments?
I played in Cambodia in 2022. Are you covering that event?
smash like
I like playing the ski resorts in the summer. I played Squaw Valley a couple times and it is a workout.
I threw a round in Iceland in 2021. Windy as hell, but still really fun.
Upcountry course in Maui. Definitely a bucket list course.
I learned to play in Busan, South Korea. Can’t wait to go back!
Not sure I'd call it "exotic", but I've ran several tournaments in the "caves" (technically old sand mines) once known as the Crystal City Underground. Before anyone askes, the course(s) is gone and highly doubtful it'll ever return.
I'm from Kentucky (10min from Idlewild). I went to New Zealand and played a course in Queenstown.
so where does this place rate in your favorite places to cover disc golf?
I’ve played in Johanasburg, South Africa. That was pretty neat!
Question. Most exotic place I’ve played? None, but Hawaii is a place I would like to play.
Most exotic course has to be the gorgeous Silver Fox in Wisconsin. I think it was created by some famous designer.😄 Seriously, I would love to play the courses in Arizona or make it to Thailand.
I don't know if anywhere in Michigan can be called "exotic" but, I'm going to go play in Hawii soon.
Have you ever thaught of coming to Malaysia?
Most exotic PDGA-tournaments for me: Assosa, Ethiopia and Piracicaba Brazil.
Where's my new favorite shirt with, "You don't want to get goosed in Thailand." at? Throw a goose pic on the front and the course logo on the back and help raise funds for the channel and course/event.
Spent a lot of time in Thailand for R-n-R while serving in Iraq 2007-2009. And played casual rounds at Koh Samui… had a Thai girlfriend at the time. She had never heard of disc golf til I showed her. She liked it.
I'm no longer am with that girlfriend, but I still play disc golf. 😃👍
Thanks for this coverage it’s really fun to get a chance to see courses in Thailand. It’s really cool that Phillo came out for the event!
