  1. I bought the F9 the year the SZ driver came out. That driver is made to go very far, and it will for years.

Cobra came around in the 70s. Titleist, Spaulding, macGregor, Ping, Powerbilt , Wilson etc were the competition. They made their mark.

Today, they’ve stayed competitive. Hopefully they aren’t purchased by Callaway or Taylormade who will kill the brand.

  2. Always seen the king cobra’s at thrift stores. Never really liked the look of them.

  3. 1991 Greg Norman Signature Forged irons, 1992 King Cobra irons (that's the start of King Cobra) and 1994 King Cobra Oversized irons. That's what I think of mainly from Cobra. Baffler in 1975 I remember and Cobra came from AU in the 70's.

  4. Greg Norman comes to mind with Cobra Golf, and Geoff Ogilvy won the 2006 US Open at Winged Foot with Cobra Golf Clubs. Bryson DeChambeau made their one lengths a household name. Rickie Fowler with Cobra/Puma sure had a following especially with younger golf fans.

  5. For me, Cobra was the brand of oversize irons you saw in many bags of senior men. With their polished finish & gold accents, they were much more classy looking than the ugly Big Bertha irons or the bland Ping i3 irons. The Cobra irons were for guys that used to have Titleist or Wilson Prostaff blades, but knew they couldn't hit them anymore.

  6. Greg Norman and Hale Irwin I associate most with Cobra Golf, next is the Baffler series. I associate them with quality, design, accuracy and distance. I have had a set of at least 4 different irons with the last being Gravity Backs. Cobra in my opinion has never been a cheap golf company. Bobby Grace putters were awesome.

  7. Probably in the minority but Cobra has always been my favourite brand from the Greg Norman days. Good tech good price

  8. First thing that comes to mind with Cobra are actually my irons from the late nineties, a used set of King Cobra oversized tour irons, 1 thru LW, the first set I actually got better with, lol! The shafts were super stiff, like the first step was really close to the ferrule so much so I started having pains in my left hand. They were fairly long distance wise and all four wedges (pw, gw, sw, lw) were spot on,, at least at that time. From there I bought a used set of crude looking cobra irons, the only markings outside of the number was DYN, they were from the seventies. Used those for awhile too, at least until I had the king cobra's reshafted. Also, I traded some other irons for a set of Cobra TRD mild steel cavity backs, from the eighties I think. Those looked real nice, really did, but the flat sole and sharp leading edge made them good hole diggers, those were the hardest to use irons I ever played. Soft stepping the shafts made them slightly more lively…garden tools, LOL! My dad had a set of baffler blades with older graphite shafts.
I like the latest cobra king iron lineup, or is it king cobra, how about just king irons. I like the look as it's almost a bit retro.
