Cousins is a solid starting QB in the NFL. He was a 4th round pick. He has over achieved what his original expectations were.

I would love to be a fan of Kirk Cousins. He has over-achieved as a QB and as contract negotiator. It's too bad that he holds the Vikings hostage and puts a ceiling on playoff competitiveness. Consequently, the only people that rise to his support are those that don't want the Vikings to win a Super Bowl. Kirk's only chance of hoisting the Lombardi trophy is accepting a trade to a team that has all the pieces in place and doesn't mind an inflated contract extension that will cripple the new team in the future. That was the 2018 Vikings (following the 2017 NFC Championship Game loss), producing one overtime playoff victory and two very humbling defeats over five seasons. He has been, and will be, a boat anchor to Vikings playoff success unless he: 1) accepts compensation worthy of a 12-18th ranked NFL QB; or, 2) accepts a trade to another team. Good luck to the Vikings in their attempt to survive the cap hits through 2024, and good luck to any franchise that attempts to negotiate with a free-agent Kirk next year.
