I Wanted To Surprise My Bf… But Surprised My Dad

Hey guys! I’m Amy. For many years I desperately tried to become an adult in terms of physical relationships with my boyfriends, but it all ended in vain. Honestly, I thought that I was cursed.
The first time I began dating was when I was 16. His name was Trey and he was my classmate. It was supposed to be the first time for both of us. And when we were already pretty much undressed in my room, Trey got out of bed to get “the thing” to make our deed safe. Suddenly he tripped over his shoes, lost his balance and… fell out of the window! That very next second I heard him moaning in pain. I rushed to the window, and saw him lying on the rose bush. He had broken his arm, so I not only had to call the ambulance, but I also had to explain to my parents, why he was ONLY wearing his boxers. That situation was completely embarrassing and we totally stopped seeing each other afterward.

After a few weeks, another guy from my school – Johnathan – asked me out. His parents were out of town, so he promised me that he would arrange the most romantic date with dinner and candles at his place. Things were going great and I was totally ready to become a woman. But apparently we got a little carried away, ‘cause when I took off my shirt and threw it over my head, it hit a few candles and started a fire! Although, Jonathan managed to put it out really fast, after that incident, he had no intentions of taking our relationship any further. Moreover, the next day the whole school was talking about me bringing a CURSE to my boyfriends, and nobody wanted to even dance with me at parties.

A year later I was the only one among all my girlfriends who hadn’t done IT with a guy, and that continued to bug me. That’s why when, once, I noticed how a guy at the mall was staring at me, I decidedly went up to him and asked for his number. After we had a few dates, there was a night when my parents were going to visit their friends and the whole house was at my full disposal. So, I invited Rodger over. We had some Chinese food and AGAIN, when that serious moment between us was about to happen, something went wrong with his stomach. He kept using the bathroom, like, every ten minutes, and by the time my parents arrived, he still didn’t feel any better. He never called me again.

Since then, I developed this feeling that all I could do was to stay out of any physical relationships. That’s why when I got to college, I deliberately rejected any courtship attempts from guys. I was simply afraid that after another unsuccessful date, I’d face the same situation as I did back in high school. I concentrated solely on my studies, while my girlfriends were partying, dating, and… even getting married. Yep, one day I flew home for a few days for the wedding of one of my former classmates – Karen. I was standing in that church, watching her walk down the aisle, and I just felt miserable. I had this feeling that at 20 years old, I was still a little girl, while she had already met the love of her life.

Then suddenly, somewhere behind me. I heard the guy saying something about a curse that he had, which lead Karen to the altar. I turned my head and saw a really nice-looking guy, who smiled at me. I couldn’t stop thinking about him during the rest of the ceremony and I just kept looking at him every now and then. I became really interested in that curse-thing he was talking about. Apparently, I was not the only person in the world facing this kind of problem. In the evening, during the reception, I decided to go up to him and find out about all the details.

His name was Joe and he was an ex-boyfriend of the bride. But what’s more interesting is that he told me that, for some strange reason, all the girls he used to be in relationships with, either got married or engaged soon after he’d broken up with them. That amazed me, and we kept talking, and then I told him briefly about my personal curse, which made him laugh at first. But then, as if jokingly, he wondered aloud whose “super power” would be stronger if we tried to be together. We shared that intriguing look, and since we were both single at that moment, we agreed to try to break each other’s curses.

That next day, I had to go back to college, so Joe and I didn’t have a lot of time to properly date. That’s why we escaped from the wedding even before the bride threw the wedding bouquet and went straight to a hotel. It was really hot outside and the air-conditioner in our room appeared to be broken, but we decided to not pay much attention to it and simply opened the window. I felt awkward.
