I have not like Brad Hill since he got here until………Ross Lyon. It was either last game or the game before it, where I thought wow Brad Hill is playing amazing
Well said. Agree with what you said. Ross has admitted the forward line needs to be improved and when King comes back we should not make him the only target, play Caminiti as well same as Geelong and Carlton with different targets and not getting in each others way.

Ross Lyon forms the best team despite many injuries. Players on the field run and chase hard. Youngsters don’t waste opportunities to show their skills. Defenders play hard to minimise concealed points. If one of your points is missing, we won’t be where we are now. It’s a great video, as always, Jake! I always enjoy watching your videos and listening to your podcasts. And Mitch Owens is the big gun. He’s everywhere and performs far ahead. I cheer him up as a Japanese. Go the mighty Saints 🔴⚪️⚫️
For me it’s structure and game plan everyone knows what they should be doing , I feel the players have lifted this year , there’s a buzz around the Saints . Ross is using the players in their best positions , Bradley Hill, Mason Wood , Wilkie, Sincs , Higgins , Butler , Nas, Seb , are all on amazing form and I feel we’ve got so much more , Philipou has been great but he’s going to lift even more as he matures and builds his confidence. I’m not getting carried away but I’m loving this year so far .
The word is, “education” there is no such word in English as, “learnings”!!!

CULTURE … I think that is by far the biggest factor influencing the teams performances, particularly with the chaos that ensued Ratts being sacked and the massive administrative changes. Every commentator in the land was smashing us for being a basket case behind closed doors. Great clubs have great culture and in our 150th year we are finally hitting the right areas culturally!

I think another huge area of improvement this season so far has been our kicking accuracy, both kicking for goal and field kicking.We’re taking our opportunities better than we have in a long time.
Another key takeaway for me in our improvement is our depth (which you touched on in point 6.)
When you’re in a situation we were with the longest injury list in the comp prior to round 1, guys like Byrnes, Caminiti, Cordy, Stocker, and even Phillipou get an opportunity to play some consistent footy when they otherwise might not have if we had the likes of Membrey, King, McKenzie, Billings etc, ready to play round 1.
