Sometimes I wonder why these are referred to as "Fairway Woods". I would call them 3-woods, especially as these are all 15*. Many people have difficulty hitting a 15* 3-wood off the grass and use it almost exclusively off the tee. So I would think that a "Fairway Wood", aimed at use off the grass, would be something with a little more loft than 15* (not a 3-wood). Granted that most 3-woods have adjustable hosels that you can adjust for more loft – but you can only make that adjustment BEFORE the round to comply with rules. Most people likely better off with a 5-wood.
