Is MLS a disrespected league?
Until you have the rules of relegation, not many will take you seriously, the teams that lose, have no real consequences
If anything, MLS is over respected in the national team. We are far too generous with caps for players playing in their prime in a league that ranks 14-15th best in the world. Especially when these MLS lifers are given minutes over younger, more promising players. Keep overrating MLS, and we will never improve.
A. Franchising teams works in other US leagues. The NFL makes more money than any Euro league. The Jacksonville Jaguars are worth more than Fulham.
B. Relegation and promotion will just mean you will have a league of 6 New York teams, 4 from LA, 3 from Chicago.
C. Until the MLS gets better players, it will not be respected.

MLS is a development league, you cant compare it to any of the European leagues.. i wouldnt say its disrespected.. MLS is a good league to find young talent for European clubs abroad… As those players develop abroad, it'll help our USMNT's progression.
MLS gets as much respect as it deserves.
