Hoge was always one of my favs on ESPN back in the day because he was willing to be really critical of guys and risk having egg on his face about it. And I was a fan of Johnny in college but I felt all he did was scramble and throw to Mike Evans.
Hoge was a hard nosed player. Just hope he's doing well with all his head issues?? Just scary.
It was obvious that Manziel was gonna flop. Media hype built him up. He played backyard football and that doesn't work in the NFL.
Unfortunately for a Browns fan, he was correct.
Manziel could've had a good future in my opinion. I think he shouldn't have went to Cleveland but to an organization like the Saints or Patriots at the time. He was a great gamer and had natural instincts. Cleveland just used him as a marketing ploy and he knew what it was. Not really Manziels fault. It's great to see that he is healthy and pursuing golf, a sport he was always great at in HS. I'd watch out for his name in a couple years in these golf tournaments.
